I wonder if Woody Allen's writings could one day be collected in a LOA volume.

You mean his screenplays? I am not sure if he has other writings beyond that, though I am not expert.

Allen is the author of some wonderful humorous prose, mostly short stories. Definitely LOA material one day.

Allen wrote several collections of humor essays, typically published in the New Yorker first. Without Feathers is his better known collection and worth the read, especially if you're an Allen fan.

Allen also did some pretty funny stand-up comedy. I would love to see some of it in print. I am sure there are a multitude of copyright problems.

My boxed set of paperbacks Without Feathers, Getting Even and Side Effects is from 1980. I must say that the slipcase has kept them pristine with no yellowing. Together they would make a nice LOA volume.

Remember to add Mere Anarchy (2008) to those first three collections.

Yes, always an issue. Even if there were not copyright issues and it seemed straightforward, I'm sure someone would throw a spanner in the works (excuse me) and generally line the pockets of the lawyers for a few years.

I’d heard he couldn’t find a publisher for his autobiography this year because he’s become such a hot potato.

It's been a long while since I read it, but I recall "The Kugelmass Episode" won an O. Henry Award. Don't know for sure, one way or the other, but one of Allen's books of stories and/or essays may even have been up for a National Book award.
I DEFINITELY second, or third, or fourth (or whatever) the idea of a volume of Allen's writing: perhaps a combination of stories, essays, and, perhaps, one of his WGA/Oscar-Award-winning screenplays (I'm always puzzled by folks who "can't" read a screenplay -- do they have the same trouble with reading a playwright's work?) Here's to the idea of LOA "bucking the system" and ignoring with the usually greedy, self-centered large publishing houses are doing regarding Woody Allen (in effort to protect their butts and bottom line, of course).
