The Hunter Inside
www.amazon.com/The-Hunter-Inside-ebook/dp/B0082KLJO6/

Hi everyone!

I think I found the place to mention that my debut novel, The Hunter Inside, will be free all weekend from 25th-27th August 2012, and I would love if people were interested enough to download a copy and give it a try! Unfortunately, Library Thing isn't recognising it as a touchstone thingie, so I've included the link to Amazon.

It a suspense thriller - serial killer with a supernatural twist - a good mix of psychological horror, gore and a very scary monster!

Here's the blurb from Amazon:

You can lock your windows and your doors, but you cannot lock your mind from The Hunter Inside.

Paul Wayans and Bill Arnold have something in common. They are being stalked by a vicious killer.

Sandy Myers, rushing from home with her 7 year-old twins in tow, grabs a letter from the mailbox. It is addressed to Sandy Carson. Her maiden name. Contained within the plain manila envelope is a photograph. A photograph of a corpse.

The past has caught up with them, and now their lives are in jeopardy. A monster more fearsome than any the world has ever seen is hunting them, bringing with it echoes from the past and threatening the future of civilisation.

Should they run, or should they stand and fight?

FBI Special Agent Sam O’Neill will fight desperately to solve a case that he could not solve ten years before. Then, he had no clues as to the identity of the vicious killer. This time, it’s different.

But can he find them before it’s too late? And if he does not, will ANYONE survive?

The Hunter Inside is a psychological thriller with a twist. It is a page-turning roller-coaster of a novel that you won’t be able to put down until all of its secrets, twists and turns have been revealed. Packed full of gruesome murders, fear and suspense, it harbors a monster so fearsome it will give you nightmares.

Shimasou is here – and no-one is safe.

Daddies is my latest novel. It's a darkly humorous YA novel aimed at readers thirteen and up. Adults should like it as well. Language is mild. It’s an e-book, available in the Amazon Kindle store, and is approximately 140 print equivalent pages in length.

The pitch:

A heavily pierced brother who speaks in SMS, a sister who goes naked when stressed, and a pair of incestuous twins. These are the siblings 17-year old Jasmine has to ride herd on after their mother unexpectedly electrocutes herself and leaves them all but penniless. Jasmine’s goal is to find their mysterious lost fathers and slap paternity suits on them. Considering their hyper-promiscuous mother's dubious tastes in men, they might best be left unfound.

The quest involves a perilous search for stolen gold, a lesson in political blackmail, and trips to a state penitentiary. All while dodging an ex-nun aunt who is obsessed with getting her hands on a non-existent inheritance. It takes the intrepid teens from the glitter of Las Vegas to a dark night off the coast of Santa Catalina Island, with a serial rapist/murderer for company.

For a limited time, Water Witch is on sale at various outlets for 99cents. Yesterday, it won the Indie Book of the Day award.

http://indiebookoftheday.com/
http://theaatkinson.wordpress.com/water-witch/
http://www.amazon.com/Water-Witch-Elemental-Series-ebook/dp/B007UFXLXG/

If a witch can't control her own powers, someone will try to control her.

ALAYSHA is a witch who has more power than she can control and her father uses that gift to decimate his enemies. Over her eighteen years, her power has enabled him to become the Emir of a large land, where even as the conqueror's daughter, she suffers the prejudice and fear of those around her. When she is asked to use her psychic ability to annihilate yet another peaceful village, she doesn't realize it is the last of her own mother's tribe, and only discovers too late that the battle she has won for her father may cost her the only connection she has to her past, and with it the secrets to managing her gift.

She needs to find the one person who managed to escape her power, the charismatic Yenic, a youth who seems to know more than he wants to tell and who has become the target of her father's next campaign. With orders to kill, she sets out on a mission of her own very much in contrast to the one her megalomaniac father wishes her to fulfill. The trouble is, there is someone else out there who would use the water witch and her magic for his own gain, and unless she can find a way to consolidate who is the real enemy from supposed ones, her entire homeland of Sarum, the only three people she loves, and countless other innocent people will die.

Water Witch is the first in a fantasy adventure series that takes the reader on a journey of action and adventure, strong female characters, and of course a touch of steamy romance that will resonate with girls of all ages. In a world where magic is a liability to those warriors who possess it, sometimes the only rescue is love.

Proof of Death by Chris Pearson:

"Lawyer Richard Troy doesn't do mathematics. But when he accepts Chechen number theorist Aslan Ivanov as a client, he realises that life, love and death are all part of the same equation.

Aslan possesses a proof of the Riemann Hypothesis – a mathematical proposition that has defied academics for 150 years. With the power to unlock public key encryption across the internet, blowing open all online financial transactions in the process, the proof is priceless. Aslan’s friend, Anthony Heims, Fellow of Trinity College, Cambridge, secretly envies Aslan for it. American banker Clayton Ruck will pay anything to have it. Siberian assassin Colonel Vladimir Tutov will stop at nothing to get it.

Forced to defend much more than Aslan’s legal rights, Troy becomes a reluctant number in Ruck’s and Tutov’s deadly calculations. The more Troy learns of Aslan’s story, the further he strays from his role as a lawyer. Suddenly, Troy is no longer crossing swords with courtroom opponents. Now the weapons are real, his adversaries merciless. And no judge will step in to save him from slaughter."

TASTES LIKE HUMAN: THE SHARK GUYS' BOOK OF BITINGLY FUNNY LISTS

The authors, who one reviewer of their first book called "fast and funny with the facts, without the morality", present a completely new and unapologetically irreverent take on the list book genre.

"What sets this book apart from other list books or "Ripley's Believe It Or Not"-esque compilations is the writing. Boivin and Lombardo team up to create lists that are both hilarious and smart."
Baltimore Reads

"Funny twists to strange occurrences, people and moments in history."
The Examiner

"...able to seamlessly navigate between high brow and lowbrow humour...A salad of the blasphemous and profane, with a dash of cynicism and ironic self defamation make for a comic light read."

Seconds seem like a lifetime when the life you lived is slowly drained out of you by those who care not what you felt, hoped, or dreamed. When the darkness comes it is all-consuming; there is no light and there is no pain. It is the never-ending loss of hope that now consumes me as I die in his arms.

This is Abigail Martin’s nightmare. After her parents become the first victims of a serial killer obsessed with the vampire saga, "Crimson Reign," Abigail does the only thing that she thinks will save her from her parent’s fate–she becomes some one else. As Vera MacIntrye, she falls in love with the very handsome Tad Knightley, and then walks into her first day at her new school to see him standing at the front of the classroom. He’s every teenage girls fantasy, but as he writes “Mr. Knightley: AP British Literature” across the white board Vera realizes the one person who filled the gaping hole in her heart will soon rip it wide open again.

Vera struggles to adjust to being a ‘normal’ teenager with very adult responsibilities like paying the rent, buying groceries and making sure that lights stay on, while being drawn time and time again back to her off-limits teacher. What’s worse is he is drawn to her too, and their worlds refuse to stay apart when Tad finds Vera screaming in terror in the parking lot after the winter formal. The murderer has struck again and is getting closer to the next target–Vera. Tad will do whatever he can to save her, even if it means losing his dream job, but will it be enough when the murderer is closer than anyone ever thought?
The ebook is available for $3.99 on Barnes and Noble, and Amazon, the paperback is available from Amazon for $12.99. The signed copy is available from my Etsy store.

Hello,

Really keen to get some feedback on my book and get to know some fellow authors of the dark fantasy/ scifi arena... and in general. I have completed my first novel called Genesis, which is an action pack glimpse into a future AFTER an apocalyptic event on Earth. It delves into religion and its destructive nature, science and where we could go if we were to continue development and a tale told from the beginning of time- creation vs chaos- and our struggle to survive and outlive our extinction level event.

Would love to give out some free copies for appraisal and looking forward to get to know some of you...

Cheers Aaron Aagars

Greetings, readers, I'm J. Z. Colby and it is my pleasure to share with you that in celebration of the release of NEBADOR Trilogy Two, which completes the "essential" NEBADOR story, the first book of the series, NEBADOR Book One: The Test, is now available as a FREE download in 3 different formats (PDF, Kindle, and EPUB).

With some basic courtesies on your part, you will find you can get Book Two: Journey and Book Three: Selection as free downloads also, as explained at the end of the previous book.

NEBADOR is the incredible journey of five young adults from poverty and oppression to respected citizenship in the wide universe. It is young-adult science fiction, designed for those 10 years and up (and the occasional gifted 7, 8, or 9). It has a strong emphasis on learning and personal power, so is not for those "allergic" to education.

On my web site, in addition to the free downloads, you will also find reviews, comments, Q & A, writing and art contests, Deep Learning Notes, the Ask Kibi advice page, and much more. Also, I will gladly participate in any discussions on LibraryThing.

I'm promoting my short story, A Change in the Weather, which will be free on 11/17 & 11/18 for the Kindle:

http://www.amazon.com/A-Change-Weather-ebook/dp/B009ZKFG4Q

A Change in the Weather

When Imran was a young doctor in England, he faced a decision that would change lives forever. Now, as an old man entering the last days of his life with his loving family in India, the decision he made fifty years ago has the power to upend everything he stands for and destroy the devotion of his family and friends. One person knows his secret and must decide what is revealed or remain hidden. Reminiscent of the style of “An Atlas of Impossible Longing”, “A Change in the Weather” is a poignant tale about honor and loss, and how these two forces have unforeseen consequences that spill from one generation into the next.

I hope you give it a chance... if you do, please consider posting a review on my Amazon page... this is my second publication; the first was A Deconstructed Heart, and I've been told that literary fiction is "the place where good books go to die". Help me prove the adage wrong!!

I've got my first solo prose work coming out in January and I wanted to mention it here now that I've got some time again (we're on hiatus from Disney for the next couple of months).

The novel is called "The Cestus Concern" and will be dropping in digital and print formats at the end of January 2013. It'll be premiering at my annual Phineas & Ferb sketch day at the Amazing Arizona Comic Con, Jan 25-27, in Phoenix, Az.

I have been describing the book as "Johnny Mnemonic meets Wolverine" to people -- it's a sci-fi/hardcore action thing that I think is a ton of fun. There's more info on the thing over at: http://www.niftyentertainment.com/2012/11/12/the-cestus-concern-the-weir-codex-b...

It's been an interesting experience to move from writing screenplays to shorter prose work and now to a full-length novel. Can't wait to finish up my next one!

Hi All,

Please find details of my debut novel. This 'touchstoning' thingy doesn't work for my book so i've included the Amazon link as well as the blurb below:

"At thirteen years old Tom and Emily Man had long since given up believing their Grandfathers stories of the magical land of Amaranth. If you were to ask them if they believed in witches, wizards and friendly trolls they'd both say "no”. They definitely wouldn’t believe in the most terrible and horrifying of all demons, even if he was mentioned in ancient manuscripts in their own world. And if you were to then throw kidnapping, stolen paintings, bloody battles and even a spot of big green romance into the mix and tell them they’d be involved in it all, they’d begin to think you an idiot, and Emily might even tell you as much.

Ironically, as thirteen was the age of magical maturity, it was when they’d finally get to visit Amaranth - but they didn't believe. Luckily, getting to Amaranth involves being flung over the edge of a very high and very steep waterfall and believing has absolutely nothing to do with it. You can’t help but believe when you’re there. When you see it for yourself you believe everything.

Amaranth is a 75,000 word story of adventure, mystery and friendship. It describes how events in this world have reverberations in another, and addresses the emotions and feelings that children experience wherever they may be. Primarily a young adult novel it is aimed at anyone else who doesn’t believe…"

I hope you enjoy it

Hi All!

Just a quick note to let you know that I'm currently running a giveaway for my MG/YA fantasy adventure novel Root Bound on Goodreads. You can enter for a chance to win one of three signed copies here: http://www.goodreads.com/giveaway/show/37624-root-bound

About ROOT BOUND:

How far will you go to find your way home?

Emma and her father are always on the move, travelling from place to place as her father’s work demands. Their new home, however, is different. There’s a frightening woman who lives down the hall: she bears an uncanny resemblance to a witch. A mysterious light comes from her apartment, and a small boy seems to be trapped inside.

School in this town is no happy place either, with an odd principal and a gang of girls who make tormenting Emma their special project. And strangest of all is the fact that there seem to be brownies - basement brownies, in the air vent in her bedroom.

Haunted by visions of her mother, Emma travels through the brownie burrow to the valley of Hades to visit with the goddess Ceres, following a series of clues that lead her across the sea of memory to the centre of the world.

There, on an inhospitable rock floating in a sea of steaming lava, Emma must find a way to release her mother from the sea of memory and restore magic to both the brownie burrow and the human world above.

"A lighthearted, whimsical confection that will delight both kids and their parents’ inner child." - Kirkus Reviews

"'Root Bound' is a fine and much recommended addition for young adult fantasy collections." -Midwest Book Review

"Root Bound is a fantasy tale steeped in myth and influenced by the stories of Perseus and Medusa and guided by the goddess Ceres. Gough’s Basement Brownies are fun, well drawn characters with their own quirky and interesting traits. (Recommended)" - CM Magazine: Canadian Review of Materials (Manitoba Public Library)

Here's a pitch:

After Alezea is trapped by the Devil, she bears him a son and knows her life will never be her own. She is the mother of Thomas, a man reared by Satan to be a killer of life’s most innocent – little girls. Alezea lives detached from the horrors committed by her son and from her domination by the entity who uses her as he pleases. Until she meets Martha who shows her a way out. Now Alezea will risk her very soul to free Thomas from his father. The fight to save her son will either redeem Alezea or destroy her forever.

Rachel knows Thomas’ history, yet she believes her presence can transform him. Her belief in Thomas might send her fully into the Devil’s realm or provide an opening for God’s miracles in both of their lives. In a scheme to continue his father’s line, Thomas may ruin his alliance with Rachel or rend himself from the dominion he was born to hold. The impulse to contrive his future takes Thomas to new heights in his lifework as a killer, pushes him toward maturity, and forces him to encounter the astonishing truth of his heritage.

Anticipation of the Penitent depicts the battle between good and evil in one family until it is rendered to its destined completion. Only then will it be known whether Alezea succeeds in her struggle for a life free from Satan’s control.

Copied almost straight from my own shill thread because I'm lazy...

Okay first of all my book Gothic Warrior and the Dark Man is currently FREE, but not for long so grab it RIGHT NOW! :D Only 1 more free day left... and BTW, currently top 5 in paranormal fantasy.

Pure cathartic fantasy action featuring one butt-kicking heroine.

Retired boxer Lincoln never imagined he would fight a girl, let alone be pushed to his limits by one. After meeting goth metal singer and ultimate bar brawler Freya in the drunken battle of a lifetime, he gets a surprise invitation to join her crew. He and the band develop a strong friendship as he shares his sports and life knowledge with them and they help him recapture his youth. But when evil seeks to claim a band member's soul along with her gift of foresight, the modern day warriors must confront the devil's own scholar... the Dark Man.

Secondly, my first full-length novel is also out. It's not free, but at $2.99 is a pretty darn good deal and features one of most beastly heroic fantasy heroines you've EVER seen.

Journey back to a time of epic legends with the tale of Rose, a mighty warrior torn between the power of the sword and her longing for a peaceful life.

A young woman with a kind heart and extraordinary constitution, Rose becomes a warrior to better the world. Despite the wealth and fame she wins as one of the greatest champions of her time, the bloody reality of her new life is nothing like her ideal dream. She yearns for a chance to escape the violence.

She finds that chance in Ethan, the leader of an altruistic pacifist group. But when a barbarian horde invades their kingdom, Rose knows that she can make a difference by taking up her sword again. Will her need to protect her homeland cost her the man she loves?

Finally, the sequel to Gothic Warrior and the Dark Man is available for $0.99.

More pure cathartic action with a kick-butt heroine.

Fresh off a big win, mixed martial arts champion Gunner challenges his friend and rival, goth metal singer and ultimate street fighter Freya Blackstar, to a rematch of their past battle. But when the outcome is not what he wishes, his resulting misery leaves him vulnerable to a mind and body altering supernatural influence. Three tales of badass ladies (my specialty) kicking MAJOR butt for you to enjoy - what more could you ask for?!

Charlie's on the Road - today!

Released today (Friday January 18, 2013) by MuseitUp Publishing. 'Road like a River' - my assault with grevious bodily wordery on Greek myth:

"Hey, Charlie. You like the truck better? Than the boat, I mean?"
That’s what she said as she walked away from the last ride she should ever have taken. And this one was smart. Kharon, even if he went by the name of Charlie these days, knew she’d be okay.
But this one wasn’t just smart. She was different. Because this one came back.
Charlie’s a trucker, an Independent. Meaner ‘n snakes, he’s been there, done that and kicked its butt—twice. What Charlie picks up, he delivers. Now Charlie’s biggest customers want him to take on an extra little job—an investigation into missing deliveries. Charlie turns them down flat. Because when god an’ the devil (not God and the Devil—it’s a union thing) are both sounding scared, a smart trucker drives away.
Then Rosie comes back, scarred from a whipping she swears Charlie gave her. It’s not like she’s the first to try to kill him. But she damn near succeeds, and not even the idiot in the lion skin did that. And it’s soon clear that whoever’s stealing souls wants Charlie in the frame—so they can take what’s in his truck.
Now Rosie’s pissed. And Charlie’s pissed-er. And someone’s going to pay. Pay a lot more than Charlie’s penny. Because nobody— not god, not demon, not poly-dimensional trans-optical hyper-sentient autonomous non-organic entity—nobody touches his truck.

Drachar's Demons is available to win at http://www.risingshadow.net/

It's a competition for fun. All you have to do is either a) suggest an interview question or b) create a character for a side plot I am writing. A sample chapter is available to help generate ideas. You could suggets a brother or sister to one of the main characters - or a new fantasy creature perhaps. Give it a go and perhaps you'll win. There are 3 books to win.

Good luck

Green County, West Virginia, a prosperous region of coal miners and career criminals. Cornerstone, the county capital and a constantly changing world of dirty dealings and backroom agreements, is ruled by the strong and the corrupt.

Not far from the sprawling metropolis is the small town of Welson, a breeding ground for Green County's most prolific outlaws and native stomping grounds of the Davis clan. A shining example of rebellious pride and outlaw attitudes.

Follow Trey Davis, the favorite son and grandson in a family oriented around the young, as he is faced with the family business. Will this man of endless sorrow triumph against the odds or will he succumb to his family's darkened past, losing himself to the seething criminal underground?

The Man of Constant Sorrow is available now on Kindle and shortly on Amazon in hard copy format. This is my first published piece and as a young writer am looking for any sort of input or aid in publicizing this and other works.

Thank you for reading,

Hello everyone,

In view of the 10th year anniversary of the Iraq War invasion, I published the Kindle book "Iraq War 2003: What Really Happened Behind The Political Scenes" - The Anatomy of the Greatest Blunder in American History.

This book is the result of 4 years of research and has more than 600 citations, ranging from insider memoirs to the accounts of journalists, former government officials, policy wonks, military leaders, and news broadcasters.

The book is already within the first 100 in the category of the Iraq War, and Amazon listed also as #19 in the New Hot Releases in the Iraq War.

I would appreciate, though, more reviews...

It is best if you get the book directly from Amazon, because the review from an Amazon verified purchase/download carries more weight…

The book is FREE for those who have an AMAZON PRIME ACCOUNT. Otherwise, I will gift the book to you, if I have your email. The book is currently priced at $0.99.

Please go to AMAZON http://www.amazon.com/IRAQ-WAR-2003-Political-ebook/dp/B00BIL0BW2/ and skim through the first 3-4 chapters inside. I hope you will find it interesting, read it and write a legitimate review that is not biased by political opinions; if you do not like the book, a no review is better than a bad review… ;-)

As you may know, one doesn't need to own a Kindle device to enjoy Kindle eBooks. Using free apps, which one can download at http://amzn.to/IQIulW, one can read kindle books in SMART PHONES (iPhone & iPod touch, android, windows phon, blackberry) COMPUTERS (Mac, windows 7 &8, XP, vista) TABLETS (iPad, Android Tablet, Windows 8) or as A KINDLE CLOUD READER (https://read.amazon.com/).

Hello all. I am the newly published Kindle author of the book Welcome to "Poop Camp" The Truth, The Whole Truth, and Nothing but the Truth about Potty Training, also expected to be available in paperback by the end of March 2013.

Now I realize that my book topic is not as exciting as an edge-of-your-seat mystery or as emotionally charged as a hot and heavy romance novel but I write what I am knowledgeable about and have an interest in, as do most authors. My true passion is children's picture books and my first one is expected to be released in May of 2013. However, those take much more time and designing than a Kindle book so I wrote this one first.

I am doing pretty well with it so far, especially for it to only be in digital format at this time. I would greatly appreciate more reviews though.

My book is a quick read that incorporates humor, a well-flowing writing style, and a "just the fact ma'am" approach to the topic of potty training.

It can be found here
http://www.amazon.com/Welcome-Truth-Nothing-Training-ebook/dp/B00B4JRN9W/ref=sr_...

I am an avid reader as well so I am constantly on here finding books to read and review for others. Thanks.

My ebook Night Sea Journey, A Tale of the Supernatural is a soft-core horror story. No graphic violence, just atmospheric and mysterious elements with supernatural events.

Synopsis:
There’s no such thing as a dream within a dream. Poe was wrong. Dreams are deep shadows between reality and illusion. In the haunted Abasteron House, artist Kip Livingston dreams of a mysterious winged being, all bone and muscle and greedy teeth plunged out. Until one night when her dreams break through the illusion and the nightmares become reality.

On Horn Island, inside Abasteron House ... a tale of the supernatural where the night journey ends beneath the ghost-grey sea.
Rich characters, psychological undertones, romance, and murder make this little supernatural thriller a fast-paced read.

Ebook for Kindle available on Amazon:

Ebook for Nook available on Barnes & Noble:

HEY Everybody,

Hope everybody's having a great day! I'm Evi, wife, mother and experienced ghostwriter. After years of seeing books that I'd written soaring to the top, while I remained in the background, I have published my very own ebook. "Sweet Surrender" by Evita Patton.

Sweet Surrender shares a romantic story about trust, finding love and overcoming the obstacles of low self-esteem. It focuses on how our society can ostracize women because of our stereotypes of what beauty is. The story revolves around Bella, a plus sized woman faced with much criticism because of her weight. I love that this book challenges women to stop blindly accepting that overweight or plus-size means unlovable or that we’re destined for rejection. It is refreshingly delightful and even more importantly it has a powerful message. I invite you to get a copy on amazon kindle, at only .99 cents.

I'm also very open to suggestions and advice from readers and other writers and so you can reach me on hfreelancewriting@gmail.com

Hi Everyone - I've just started to actively promote my book, Scorpio Love, which is on sale at Amazon in both a Kindle and a paperback version. It's received 3 5-star reviews so far (not from anyone that I know) and I'm very happy because the story is a very personal one. Here's the description of the book that appears on my website (http://www.scorpiolove.com):

Susan, a disillusioned attorney living in Hawaii, purchases a crystal globe mounted on a stand resembling the claw of an Eagle after a mysterious woman correctly identifies her as a Scorpio and informs her that she is an Eagle. "Scorpios who are Eagles can soar to great heights and accomplish things that others would consider miracles by sheer will power," the woman tells her. "They have within themselves the power to manifest their dreams as long as they truly believe. Dreams play a very important role in the life of an Eagle." She tells Susan to trust in her dreams. Susan takes the crystal globe and Eagle's claw mount home and places them on her bedside table. Not long afterwards, the dreams begin—dreams that eventually compel her to travel thousands of miles to Los Angeles to save the life of a stranger. He is a rising Hollywood star – handsome, magnetic, ambitious, and driven – who has achieved success by always putting his needs and goals first in his life. He is not in search of a serious relationship; she believes in true love but has no real hope of finding what she's looking for. Yet when her dreams force their paths to cross, they discover in each other that part of themselves that they have always felt was missing. They bond at the level of their souls but a devastating accident threatens to break that bond. Operating on pure instinct and driven by her undying love, she takes the lead and shows him the way of the Eagle.

Despite the title and how the story begins, this is not a book about astrology. It is a story about love - real love. Here's the link to the Kindle version where people can read the first couple of chapters for free:

http://www.amazon.com/Scorpio-Love-ebook/dp/B005X9PAXK/ref=tmm_kin_title_0?ie=UT...

Years are only one way to age in this tale of a young warrior whose army-slaying sword belies her kind heart.

One of the greatest fighters in the world, nearly indestructible Rose lets few things strike fear into her—but magic is one of them. Nonetheless, she seeks out the magical dangers left by the ancients alongside warrior partner Finn and curious scholar Derrick in order to protect others from them. Their mission is complicated by Rose and Finn's budding romance, as her choice of lifestyle conflicts with his expectations for the woman he loves. Hi Guys,

Just to let you know my new book - The Man Who Wasn't Anders Voss is published on Amazon kindle, Createspace and Smashwords.

It's a book based on the duplicates paradox exemplified by the Star Trek transporter - in short, is the person who arrives at the other end of the transporter the same person who left at the first point? Or does the machine actually kill one person and create another - a duplicate.

Here's the blurb:

Once there was a man named Anders Voss.

He was a criminal. A man caught and sentenced to a lifetime in jail. And a man given a single chance to escape his sentence. They would take him, train him, and send him to the stars. And they did just that.

But they lied.

They didn't tell him that the transport would kill him. That he would die on Earth and another innocent man would be born on an alien planet. A man with his memories and his body, built from his remains. A man who would be born out of death, with its fingers gripped firmly around his soul. With his body damaged from the process, sickness stalking him, and death due to claim him soon.

But they also didn't tell him that they would send him to a world where there were aliens.

And the link: http://www.amazon.com/The-Wasnt-Anders-Voss-ebook/dp/B00C4K3RI6/ref=sr_1_12?ie=U...

Feel free to take a looksee at it - I'm particularly pleased with the way the cover came out - and as always I welcome feedback.

Cheers, Greg.

I'm excited to share with you all my debut romance novella, The Best Man.

The Best Man is available now at Amazon. com, Barnes & Noble, Kobo, and other fine online retailers.

From Entranced Publishing.

Beth Chase is too busy planning perfect weddings to worry about the lack of action in her own love life. But if she was looking for a man, she wouldn’t be looking at Colin Pratt. Her boss swears that Best Man Colin is a quiet scholar and science fiction writer who couldn’t possibly cause a fuss at his own brother’s wedding. He’s clearly never met the man in question.

Snarky, sexy and more than a little inebriated, Colin is the final obstacle between Beth and the last perfect wedding she needs to make partner. Of course, when she helps him into a taxi at the end of the night she has no idea that he’s only just begun to poke holes in her professional exterior. Colin might have the skills to seduce a romance professional, but can he convince her that he’s the best man to share her happy ever after?

'Far Across The Sea', the sequel to 'Ours, Yours and Mines' is set in Scotland in the early 1900s, progresses through two world wars and leads to a life in Australia. The story follows a typical mining family of the time, during a period when rationing was in place in Scotland and people made do with what they had. A brighter future beckoned when the Australian government created the 'Populate or Perish' campaign which saw many Scots take up the offer of assisted passage to live and work in Australia. 'Far Across The Sea' provides a snapshot of the time and takes readers through a wormhole to experience life back then.

My first book War Never Ends is now available on Amazon, in both paperback and Kindle formats.

Check it out here...

http://www.amazon.com/War-Never-Ends-Human-Dominion/dp/1481203231/ref=sr_1_10_ti...

...and here's the blurb...

I…Imagine the Universe…I

Imagine that the universe is not just a mass of swirling gases, blazing stars and giant spheres of rock. Instead, see the Galaxy as a massive living entity, with its own consciousness. The Galaxy wants to see its children grow and become as strong and as wise as they can be, but it also wants to determine which race is its favourite offspring and give it pride of place. This is the story of our Galaxy and how the beings that came to exist in it were created, how they discovered each other and how eventually one race gains Dominion.

IWar Never EndsI

War Never Ends is the tale of how Humanity struggles to ascend into the heavens above. For in 2076 the world ended, atomic fire swept across the globe and Humanity almost caused its own destruction. Those that remained were suddenly united by a common goal, to survive on their ruined planet long enough, to find a new home out amongst the stars. Upon the dying world, four characters tell the story of Humanities plight. A warrior, a scientist, a little girl and the evil ever-living Emperor. With a dazzling arsenal of weapons and Equipment, War Never Ends is an action packed young adult (15+) extravaganza. And the saga is only just beginning.

Priceless Stones

Hello All!

I am pleased to announce the publication of my brand new Hebrew-based devotional entitled Priceless Stones, published by CrossLink Publishing, released on February 19th, 2013

The culmination of over two years of intensive study, Priceless Stones beautifully merges the best of two worlds—academic scholarship and gut-level practicality. Citing two-hundred forty endnotes drawn from over fifty academic sources, Priceless Stones carries textbook-level credibility and invites the reader to pursue further research. At the same time, the language of Priceless Stones remains easily accessible to a wide spectrum of readers of all backgrounds. Uncommonly transparent, each page of Priceless Stones throws a window wide open into my life—incorporating into the narrative my personal successes as well as my failures.

Each daily message highlights one Old Testament verse or brief passage and focuses on one or more key words from the text of the Hebrew—the language in which the Old Testament was originally written. While drawing from Old Testament Scriptures, Priceless Stones is written through the prism of New Testament Christianity and the finished work of redemption which was accomplished through the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Each daily encouragement is reinforced by a concluding declaration and prayer. As an added bonus, appendices at the end of the book include a Scripture index and both Hebrew-English and English-Hebrew glossaries.

Prior to publication, Priceless Stones had already proven to be ideal for both individual and group study. Far from having a dogmatic tone, it is an encouraging volume, absolutely brimming over with a level of inspiration which lifts the reader above his or her present circumstances. It is my passion to invite the reader to not only be acquainted with, but to personally experience, the amazing, incomprehensible, boundless love of God and to radically encounter Him on a deeply intimate level to such an extent that the reader is never the same again.

Available on Amazon, Barnes and Noble and numerous other bookseller websites in paperback, Kindle and Nook formats.

Phontaine's Gifts - The Survival Legacy is the story of Newton Phontaine and Maggie Nevin. Newton was a brilliant visionary and a little weird. He knew the time would come when the Earth experienced apocalyptic destruction; it has happened before and Newton knows the Earth is a risky place to live. Fortunately, he had a plan to help the survivors as much as possible and ensure the continuation of civilization after the apocalyptic events.

Cynthia Nelson was a college student when she started working for Newton; she never dreamt she would live to see apocalyptic destruction; but she did. As it approached, she was determined to save her brother, his ex-wife, and their five sons from certain death.

Mike and Amy Williams were caught unawares. Mike managed a grocery store. Amy worked as a dental hygienist. Mike fell victim to the relentless search for food as people crossed the country like Army ants. Mike and Amy knew they must escape to save their children from the inevitable crush of frantic, selfish people. They had to find a safe haven, but they did not expect to get the help they received.

Many people refused to believe it was happening, many discovered they were not prepared, and a few survived because of Phontaine’s Gifts.

I wrote this novel based, in part, on my association with colleagues who served in the Navy SEALS and my work in Ethiopia supporting sustainable approaches to agriculture and survival under the harshest conditions conceivable. As a few reviewers have noted, "no zombies." This book will entertain and perhaps leave you with some things to consider.

Paperback at www.tenparinc.com and (of course) Kindle edition at Amazon.

Thanks for your time.

My eBook is out.

'Syria. Will the killing ever end?'

https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/325848

I realized that the main stream media isn't giving the full picture of what is happening in Syria. So I went there and met as many people as possible, from defected Generals and senior members of the rebel opposition, including members of Jabhat al Nusra. I'm particularly interested in the reasons why many in the international community have no interest in seeing this conflict come to an end any time soon.

It isn’t a long book as I wanted to distill the essence of my experience, observation and analysis of my time in Syria. It is quite hard hitting in places and hopefully thought provoking, you also find information you won't find in the media.

Like many others, I also had very little experience with Islam before I went to Syria so I also looked into the role of Islam in what is happening along with the dangers of religious extremism in this conflict.

If you enjoy having a personal insight into different cultures and understanding why Syria is in such a mess then my book is for you.

I have a newly self-published Christian fiction eBook currently on promotion at http://www.amazon.com/Sarahs-Justice-Modern-Hawaii-ebook/dp/B00DQ9EP2G/ref=sr_1_...

Sarah's Kine Justice, A Story of Modern Hawaii

Action and Adventure in Hawaii
Told from a Christian world view!

In 1893, a diplomat of the United States and 162 US Marines helped overthrow the constitutional government of the Hawaiian Kingdom. Five years later, an act of Congress unilaterally annexed the islands. At the time, President Cleveland admitted mistakes were made, but he failed in his efforts to restore the Hawaiian Monarchy. A hundred years later, President Clinton formally apologized for the United States' actions. Yet Hawaiian pleas for justice are still unresolved.

Now, two genetic engineers have found a way to force the United States to give back the islands, and they've given notice that all non-Hawaiians must get out or die.

Sarah Kiley is one of a few thousand pure-blooded Hawaiians who stand to inherit Hawaii under the scientists' plan. While investigating the murder of a friend, she finds herself a key player on the inter-agency task force that's trying to stop them. Given the opportunity to change the history of her people and return their stolen sovereignty, what will she do?

Since Ellen started this thread with an inquiry re if I wanted to share my work with the reading universe, I am replying in the affirmative with a novel written for the writers' universe. Writers with works that have never been placed in an agent's or publisher's slush pile will not understand this novel. However, if any writer has experienced the rejection of a query letter then I wrote this work for you. It's FREE on Kindle 19 & 20 July before it reverts almost worldwide to the exchange rates equal to $(0.99) in case one's friends miss the free days. The work contains a wealth of information re the publishing industry unknown to some; for example, the prologue traces the origins of publishing as presented by the protagonist, Buster Scooper. He shares his secrets of how to meet women, and includes his efforts in founding a literary agency. Well, here's a short link that hopefully will work for you. www.amazon.com/dp/B008CQUY5K and the title is Slush Pile Inspector.

Sovereignty Restoration Day (July 31) commemorates the day in 1843 when the British Rear Admiral Richard Thomas, on behalf of Queen Victoria, formally returned control of the Hawaiian Kingdom to King Kamehameha III. The Islands had fallen into British possession when a British sea captain, acting on his own authority, seized them in the name of Great Britain some five months earlier.

The Beautiful Scientist

Are science and faith antithetic? Are the new discoveries in science making faith in God totter? Or can science be the basis for strong faith and the belief in a Creator? Discover how.

The Beautiful Scientist takes an interesting look at science and faith, and how the two can work together to prove there is a Creator. Corrado Ghinamo believes it is the very existence of the universe that allows people to see there is a super-entity, there is a God. He uses scientific evidence, like the Big Bang Theory, the smallest particles of the universe, the galaxies, and what he calls the Super-Force to prove just that—God does exist.

Creation and evolution are not two separate ideals; rather evolution is one of the means that God used and still uses in creating and governing the universe. Ghinamo shows that God is a logical necessity to complete the vision of scientist’s universe. The same goes for people of faith; there is scientific evidence that can further the existence of a Creator.

The Beautiful Scientist: A Spiritual Approach to Science uses easy-to-understand language, examples from everyday life, and an easy-to-follow structure to prove that the universe, far more beautiful and complex than people can imagine, was in fact created by God, and that evidence and rationality in science can lead to the belief in God.

Excerpt
-------
Somewhere in the Andes
Circa. 1782

The thundering hooves dug deep into the wet Bolivian soil as the swarthy rider from Caracas hunched into the beast under him. Fie be upon that woman! The passing underbrush swung back in rebellion as the maddened horse careened through the canyon that was awash with eerie darkness. Occasionally, the distant glow of burning villages served to heighten the rider’s grim resolve. Calamarca was gone. Potosi and Sucre in the south had been razed to the ground. Oruro had been seized and the elders of the village annihilated. To the north and the west, Pilo Lajas and Chulumani had been bludgeoned into submission, while La Paz and El Alto had been under siege for four sunsets.

Still, there were pockets of fierce resistance from tribal warlords who had not yet submitted to the rule of the Rosa. They had to be quelled. Especially that Senorita from Cochabamba! People would pay for their rebellion. With their lives. With their dignity, if necessary. The swarthy rider dug his spurs deeper into the beast’s underbelly; time was of essence and there were conspiracies to be hatched. He was a conquistador after all – acapitán at that. It was but his job to cull ignorant populations and exchange blood for gold from the Empire.

The beast responded to its master’s provocation and surged forward as its sinews strained against the massive girth of the man straddling it. The flared nostrils of the thoroughbred betrayed the hours of tiresome running it had been subjected to across the barren Andean countryside. Its widened eyes conveyed a sense of fear. A fear of the unknown. A fear born of past traps.

And then it happened. No amount of preparation could prepare one for an Aymaran ambush.

Our Money: how to shrink government, boost business, eliminate poverty, and make the economy work properly for everyone.

Money is just about the cleverest thing that humankind has ever invented but we have been using it in just about the stupidest way possible. This book explains what money is, how we abuse it, and how we could use it to make our economy work much better for the benefit of everyone.

Exploring our relationship with money, we discover that our desire to possess it rather than use it is at the root of our economic problems, and changing how we feel about money is the key to solving most of them.

The nonsense of orthodox economic thinking is exposed, and reforms to our economic system are proposed, shedding light on a plausible way forward while delivering a serious poke with a sharp stick to our “nothing-can-be-done” complacency.

The author has spent the last 30 years as a self-employed foot-soldier engaged in the daily struggle to keep cash flowing in sufficient quantity through a variety of businesses, and has tackled the subject of our economy from this perspective.

Yes, it’s a book about economics but it’s been written by someone who has tried and failed to understand economics textbooks and habitually nods off when reading the finance pages in the newspaper.

The book is aimed at the ordinary punter who’s trying to make sense of an economic system that’s patently dysfunctional and has an interest in finding out how we can harness the magic of money to abolish taxes, shrink government, boost business, eliminate poverty and ensure that everyone has enough money to meet their basic needs without having to beg, borrow or steal.

My novel, "Bones of My Brother" is due to be published in September by Two Harbors Press of Minneapolis. It is a family saga told in Southern literary style. Here is the blurb from the back cover:

From Alabama at mid-century, there’d been John and his Evelyn—now from Minnesota at century’s end, Price and his Joy—two couples whose struggles ran as parallel as rails on a track. Had John Hobson’s smile been erased by a long ago war, or had he suffered a more defining chapter in his life? And what of his son, Price, the small-town boy who stamped his mark upon a corporate world that would ultimately crumble about him?

For one man, there'd been the lure of “Music City” versus the love of his treasured Evie. For the other, there'd been the heady rush of success followed by a precipitous fall from grace. To be sure, a shroud of guilt had marked both men, but when Price learns of his late father’s ambition, his obsession with the past places his marriage in dire jeopardy.

John Hobson was gone now, interred “. . . in nested containers of earth, box and body,” but the secret of his lifelong angst lay not beneath the hot soil of Gethsemane's cemetery, but beneath God's tree in a tiny glade one county over. In the end, a son’s desire to bring his father’s dream to fruition triggers deadly consequences, initiating a journey along a more imperative path.

Bones of My Brother is a compelling look at failure and redemption—humanity and spirituality. At turns heartfelt and raw, this family saga is full of love and intrigue with characters facing questions about the conflict of dreams and reality, love and lust. Could it be that the answers provide a revelation, the seed of a new beginning?

Hi, everyone. My name is Nan Cuba, and I'm the author of the historical/literary novel BODY AND BREAD (Engine Books). It's listed as one of "Ten Books to Pick Up Now" by O, Oprah's Magazine, and it made Huffington Post's "Summer Books" list.

Description: Years after her brother Sam's suicide, Sarah Pelton remains unable to fully occupy her world without him. Now, while her surviving brothers prepare to sell the family's tenant farm and a young woman's life hangs in the balance, Sarah is forced to confront the life Sam lived and the secrets he left behind. As she assembles the artifacts of her family's history in East Texas in the hope of discovering her own future, images from her work as an anthropologist—images of sacrifice, ritual, and rebirth—haunt her waking dreams.

In this moving debut novel, Nan Cuba unearths the power of family legacies and the indelible imprint of loss on all our lives.

True Blood is more than just an HBO show brimming with sex and gore, or another vampire horror story blown up by big media. Independent detective Sookie Stackhouse is following the classic heroine’s journey, seen in epic myth and popular fantasy, from the quests of Isis and Demeter to the struggles of Dorothy Gale or Katniss Everdeen. Beside her, Sam, Jason, Alcide, Eric, and Bill, along with Pam, Tara, and Jessica embark on their own epic quests into darkness seeking freedom and belonging. From the show’s mythic structure to the maenads, fairies, demonesses, werewolves, and vampires, True Blood swells from its ancient roots to tackle modern issues and sensibilities in a breathtaking epic…while still breaking taboos and tackling boundaries.

Hello,

I am part of a digital publishing company - Senserial Publishing. We offer novels as a digital series. I know, that here is a place for authors to spread the word about their books, but I hope that there is no problem that publishers do it instead of the writers.

My newest novel is now available at the largest e-book stores and you can get the print book at Createspace. It's the first story in a series I'm writing about an assault of all things magical against the human world. It got zombies in it, but their origin is a little different than the zombies we know.

Description:

A routine delivery becomes a night of terror.

Before meeting up with his girlfriend, Linda, John Lone must deliver a package to a secluded cabin deep in the forest. No problem, he's made this trip a hundred times.

But things have changed...

Supernatural creatures now stalk the forest and beyond, seeking out fresh meat to devour. John must fight for his life. Does he have the skills--the time--to get back to his safe life and his girlfriend? Linda is his one chance for a happily ever after.

But this is no fairy tale.

Hi all
Liam Leddy here www.liamleddy.com Very brief summing up of how I write. My two novels Body Language and Bad Form are authentic street dialogue sixties Glasgow crime fiction. Short story collections are more varied subject matter. All have twists, turns and very, very surprising endings. Novels, short stories it`s immaterial. It`s how I write. The reason for that? It`s what I love to read. Stephen King, Robert Block, Alfred Hitchcock Mystery Magazine, Roald Dahl, Saki, Twilight Zone etc. I dare say you get my drift by this stage

Hi! :) My debut novel is coming out on August 22nd, so I'm really excited!!
I'm hoping to build some interest for it before the release date so that it really takes off when it comes out.
It's called Equilibrium, and is the first in a trilogy of YA fantasy novels.

Here's the blurb:
“In times of old, powers unlike any we can imagine ruled the Five Lands. Now, those powers are being reawakened. Dark times are coming…”
Kim and Nick have been best friends since they were born. They live peaceful lives in the smallest of the Five Lands. That is, until mysterious strangers turn up and rip their lives apart. Kim and Nick are forced to flee, with no idea of who is pursuing them or why. They find themselves in the middle of a war they never wanted to fight, a war between powers greater than any the world has ever seen.
Throughout, Kim is haunted by a wraith that only she can see, who insists that she and Nick must get their memories back. Of course, they have all their memories. They know exactly who they are… don’t they?
As the situation spins further and further out of their control, Kim and Nick are forced to confront the possibility that they are both much more than they have been brought up to believe. Who are they to each other? Were they ever more than just best friends? The fate of the world depends on them finding out exactly who they really are…

Here's the piece I wrote about myself for the back of the book:
Lauren Kirk-Cohen is a young woman with Asperger’s Syndrome. She grew up in Cape Town, South Africa, with her parents and sister, and started writing shortly after she left school. Her regular haunts include the fantasy sections in bookshops, and her bookshelf is filled with stories set in faraway worlds where anything is possible. Lauren regularly loses herself in writing magical stories where true love is real and there are always happy endings. After years of dreaming about becoming an author, her fantasy finally came to life when Equilibrium, her debut novel, was accepted for publication shortly before her twenty-first birthday.

Please take a look at the Facebook page and like it if you want to - support much appreciated!! I've posted the cover art and a picture of my main character there, for anyone who's interested. If anyone has questions, I'm here - please ask!

I would like to introduce myself. I am a new romance/erotic fiction author. My first book is Pieces of Perfect

Here is a brief description of the book:

As a sexy ex-hockey player, Max was the bad boy with something to prove. As a handsome single father, Adam was the man most women wait a lifetime for. Each man would take me on a journey of self-discovery that was marred with lies, jealousy, deceit, and a whole lot of fun. They each offered a glimpse of happily ever after, a piece of perfect. But in my constant quest to have it all, I would risk losing everything. Only one thing was certain. I’d never be the same after this.

The only "about me" book (memoir) I've ever written is FREE 08/19/2013 to 08/22/2013 on Kindle in UK, USA, and numerous other countries. The title is Miss Williams by Charles Frankhauser and a link is http://www.amazon.com/Miss_Williams_ebook/dp/B00BW5NIQU/ for USA readers. The memoir is written to encourage disadvantaged youth (YA) to forget about most everything else except doing one's homework in school as a route out of poverty. A German psychologist in the late 1930’s is caught conducting a romance with a high party official’s wife. The psychologist fakes insanity to remain in Homesick House to save his life. The psychologist provides a U-Boat Admiral with a secret cure for homesick sailors on long deployments scouting the American coastline in preparation for war. A male and two female naval Lieutenants are assigned to test the cure while working undercover in Key West, Florida. Brothel training is provided at government expense in Hamburg prior to their mission.

WRITING WITHOUT REVERSING IN ONE WEEK

Hello,

My name is Samar Hatoum and I am first time author of an educational book for children. The title of my book is "Writing without Reversing in One Week". This title is inspired by and reflects my own experience with my son's struggle with reversed writing.

Reversed writing, or reversing the direction of numbers and letters, is one of the most common challenges for children when they are introduced to writing in their early learning years. The struggle period varies from one child to another, but it may take some children up to a couple of years to overcome reversing, which may create frustration to those children and hinder their learning progress.

The book presents unique techniques to help children with overcoming reversed writing in no time. Utilizing witty, simple concepts presented in a captivating context, the book serves as an amazing fun-based learning experience for children and their mentoring adults. The book's techniques are based on the simple concept of the left and right directions, mind-boggling illustrations (created by my 11 years old daughter), the concept of concentrating on the few to learn the whole, and the power of music in reinforcing learning, as the book comes with a song performed by my children on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6TsvdLIj8I0).

Executing this book project with the help of my own children has been an extraordinary journey of valuable lessons and profound fulfillments.

To learn more about "Writing without Reversing in One Week", kindly visit my website at www.samarhatoum.com. The book is available in a Kindle edition on Amazon.com at the following URL http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00D6OUPOS

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the potential readers of my book, and to thank this respected site and particularly the members of this group for providing authors with the opportunity to introduce and promote their books.

Thank you!

THIS SERIES IS MEANT TO BE UNREALISTIC FUN. If complete believability is a must, it might not be for you... but if you like the sound of a non-magical female brawler standing toe to toe with huge men and monsters in brutal fistfights on sheer toughness and badassery, maybe it is.

After beating up a player from a rival football team, high school sports star Freya finds herself under investigation for his disappearance. Resolving to find him and clear her name herself, she teams up with psychic outcast Annabeth on a quest that will start a great friendship and change her life forever.

By the year 3335, Earth has expanded its sphere of influence out beyond the solar system. Interstellar trade with alien species is commonplace, as is competition with other advanced, sentient species for resources in deep space. Constantly changing vantage points provide a wild ride and a thrilling view of future Earth. Metropolises that cover North America's continental shelves, body-implanted wetware, faster-than-light travel, and contact with alien lifeforms have caused a sea-change in Earth culture and the average human's thoughts about life, religion, and even ancient history. An Invisible Thread is a chronicle of a critical period in Earth's future history powered by Byzantine political machinations, visions of violent combat on exotic worlds, and contact with bizarre, alien lifeforms. The compelling stories of vulnerable, flawed, heroic and tragic characters are related through an adventure both intimate in its perspective and galactic in its overall scope.

My new book, Secret of the Savior: The Myth of the Messiah in Mark, reveals where the story of Jesus really comes from. It unearths the hidden history buried beneath the surface story in the earliest Gospel. Jesus is a symbol of salvation. The story of Jesus recapitulates the history of salvation, from the Exodus to the destruction of Jerusalem by Rome. Jesus stands for a series of savior figures, from Joshua to David to the Teacher of Righteousness, and beyond. Mark's message is that God has always saved his people, and that in the end, Israel will rise again. That is the meaning of the resurrection.

Hello Authors!

My debut poetry collection, "That Which Lives Within" is out and about! Today marked the beginning of my month long LibraryThing Giveaway of 10 signed print copies, so if you're interested please sign up. Otherwise it's available in print and e-book on Amazon, e-book on Barnes & Noble.

If you're interested in a few samples you can visit my website: www.littlefacepublications.com. Also, several of my poems were published in this month's "Synchronized Chaos" ezine.

This poetry collection if comprised of mostly free verse although there is some rhyming poems. I've also created and included a full-color section of "poepics", or poetry infused images. This collection of poems is an insightful and reflective journey through my life thus far, taking a look at the good the bad the ugly. The poems include expressions of inspired moments, thoughts, and experiences. I recognize that any and everything in life possesses the potential to draw inspiration to create from us and that is what I show in this collection. Most certainly self-discovery is a creative process in and of itself and that's what this book is really about; it's about seeing one's self from within, without, above, around and away. We're not going to like everything but we'll certainly find things we like along the way. It's about lessons and love, grief and disappointment, the beauty of life and the ugly truths. That Which Lives Within has the chance to be a bridge between people because we are all so different but we all have something that lives within and either we connect through such similarities or connect as we learn about each other's lives and experiences. I hope this book can find a bridge to That Which Lives Within us all.

Here are a few review blurbs:

"...The book tells the story of metamorphosis. It’s about going on a journey and growing and not running away from the storms of life. It’s learning from the past and looking forward to what the future will bring. Everyone can relate and can take something valuable and essential from this collection."
- 4 out of 5 stars
Talisha Harrison, author of "The Unconsciousness of an Ethiopian Princess College Days of Future Past"

"I love poetry and this is definitely poetry that any verse-aholic will love.

This anthology is well-written and the depth of the message behind the poetry will captivate you....

I think this work needs exposure. There are so many great modern poets out there to be read! ELPy is one of them...."
- 5 out of 5 stars
Maja Dezulovic, author of "The 360 Degree Heart"

Deepest Doors, Psychological Thiller was named a "Thrill of the Month" for September by e-thriller.com

Released September 1, 2013. Enter for a chance to win a signed copy

When a chance collision with a beautiful woman in Central Park results in a head injury, international consultant James McBride’s perfectly structured and rote life suddenly begins to unravel as he learns that every memory he has seems to be false and, in fact, he is not the same person that he thinks he is.

James McBride is a workaholic who thinks his life is almost perfect the way it is. He goes into the office early, stays late, works weekends, travels to exotic locations and has no ambitions of a wife, girlfriend or any type of social life. All of this changes one afternoon after a collision with a beautiful woman forces him to ‘break routine’. Injured and dazed by a fall, she helps him to her apartment to rest. By the next day, they find themselves being pursued by people from his firm, singularly intent on killing her and capturing him.

Even before its release, reviews had been quite positive. "Paul Winters has written an unputdownable thriller with the kind of authenticity that any agent or cop will find irresistible." said Michael Levine, New York Times Bestselling author of Deep Cover and The Big White Lie.

A new cozy mystery series set in Cold Creek, Virginia (fictitious place), the first in the series is now published. It features a female professor and psychologist turned sleuth as a result of her role in responding to crises on the campus of private 4-year college.

Synopsis: Sheridan Hendley is a professor and psychologist, not a sleuth. When Adam Millberg is murdered, she is charged with helping the Detective assigned to the case. Immediately, her good friend becomes the prime suspect and Sheridan is motivated to help solve the case and prove Kim isn’t guilty. It also becomes apparent that Sheridan is attracted to the handsome Detective. As Sheridan tries to connect all the people in Adam’s life, she finds that out many women have a motive for Adam’s murder. Slashed tires are the first indication that Sheridan’s involvement is obviously making someone nervous.

Hi Friends,

I have recently published an ebook, 'The Arithmetic of Breasts and Other Stories'.

This cluster of 7½ literary short stories presents to you the romantic-sexual facets of: Narain who lusts for Munika, hypnotized by her bosom in The Arithmetic of Breasts, and old Jaganlal who wants a favour from young Dia in The Room with a Sea-view.

Jackie who is in love with Nic in Sky Park, and the surgeon in Dr. Love who is changing much more than Sneha’s hairline, nose, lip and chin.

Shonali and Neel who are realizing that infidelity might not be such an easy thing in The Scent of a Conscience, and a woman who walks the tight rope between tradition and sexual exploitation in A place they call Scary.

And, Sunil who meets the woman of his desires in What Men Want through an adult dating site.

One of my earliest readers said, ‘Through these stories, Rochelle Potkar explores the intensely personal ‘unrelationship’ that exists alongside its conventional twin, the relationship.

C2H6O: The Annihilation of the Blossoms by author D. E. Clayton

http://www.amazon.com/C2H6O-Annihilation-Blossoms-D-Clayton-ebook/dp/B00FI7QUOU

NEWS RELEASE

New ebook charts beleaguered Fourth Estate newshound through tale of excess and search for redemption

LOS ANGELES—C2H6O: The Annihilation of the Blossoms is a just-released novella by Southern California writer D. E. Clayton.

This sobering, sometimes darkly comic and humorous story captures three days and nights in the life of Jack Markgraf, a middle-aged newspaper reporter who has seen too much blood, too much death, too much of the mundane—and not enough alcohol. Or so he thinks. An experienced and opinionated journeyman journalist, Jack obsesses as much over the painstaking creation of a fine martini—and the nightly rearrangements of his oversized Beatles wall posters—as he does about perfection on the job and the need to tell “good stories.”

He’s a martini man first and foremost, but he loves it all—Chilean cabernets; Hungarian reds; tequila and mescal; tall, golden lagers; the sweet, orange-flavored liqueur. It’s all okay with him—until finally it isn’t.

Jack stumbles through boozy nights, intense days at the newspaper, and the nuanced spirit paths that somehow manage to discover him, while snapshot-like memories of his past flash before him. Ultimately he comes to a sloppy reckoning with his drinking fixations, but is it soon enough? Or too little, too late?

This book is a good read for anybody involved with, or interested in, the world of newspaper journalism and the drinking life that often complements the sometimes grim and onerous grind of daily news gathering. The pace is brisk. Clayton writes from the perspective of one who has suffered the romantic allure of the drinking-and-writing life, and Jack Markgraf’s quest for sobriety, recovery, and personal transformation will especially resonate with those readers who have traveled the same or similar paths.

(The book is set in the early 1990s, a dozen years after the 1980 death of John Lennon. Jack, in his early 40s and a child of the 1950s, is stuck, a bit, in the Sixties.)

C2H6O: The Annihilation of the Blossoms is published by O’Baoighill Publishers and has been designed by 52 Novels (www.52novels.com) for reading in ebook format. Length: 21,000 words, approximately.

Inquiries: Elka Andersdottir (obpub@earthlink.net).

"The frights were so scary, I was so creeped out!" - Beta Reader.

The discovery of a woman's heavily mutilated body in the Surrey countryside leads Detective Inspector Paul Sinclair into the most bizarre case he has ever faced, in which the stories he hears are at least as bewildering as the seemingly unconnected people being slaughtered all around, even after the prime suspect is himself found dead.

Most confusing of all is the note left by the dead woman, written in her own blood:

HE IS BACK. HE IS STRONGER....

The newly published crime thriller by Max China.

The Sister:

Cornwall, England 1967: Two children witness a murder. One, a young Irish girl, views it from miles away, the other a seven-year old boy, from fifty yards . . .

London 2006: With retirement looming, DCI John Kennedy reopens the only unresolved case in his career - the disappearance of a young nurse twenty-three years earlier. Following the broadcast of a cold case reconstruction, a witness comes forward. Kennedy, now set on the trail of a serial killer, unwittingly sparks a sequence of events that to his horror, lead back to him. As the investigation unfolds, it becomes apparent that the murderer is no ordinary adversary. Resourceful and cunning, he has been operating undetected for over forty years, and it seems that only the original witnesses from 1967 can stop him.
But they have yet to meet . . .

A devious and compelling thriller that will keep you guessing from start to finish,

'A beautifully woven tapestry of exciting episodes, combined with very well drawn characters. The story doesn't flag at all. It held me every minute, I was reading it. This is the work of a master storyteller and a very good writer' Source: authonomy.com

Book Blurb, A Warrior's Redemption
When Roric was born little did he know that his family would die violently as he watched and that his world would crumble only to later find himself chained into the life of a slave forced to survive in the world of the arena where every match meant death for someone, but he survived and one day he escaped.

A Warrior’s Redemption is the beginning of a family saga that starts with a boy named Roric. He lives on a distant world that is full of unrest, where disputes are settled by the sword. Little is known of how they came to this world, only that they came from a place known as Earth, in the distant past. How they came is a mystery that some want to discover again while others would gladly die to keep those secrets from ever seeing the light of day. Roric’s father tired of keeping the secrets of his ancestors, from the people of his nation, forsakes his family’s oath, and leaves to find peace in another land. Little did he know that the wickedness of the land that he settles in would kill him and all his family, except for his oldest son, Roric. Roric, embittered by seeing the death of his family, finds himself sold into slavery. He becomes a survivor in the arena, where man is matched to the death against man and beast alike. He escapes only to pursue a life of vengeance against those who afflicted him and killed his family. Tormented by a life without peace, he remembers the guiding words of his mother, which open up a path of redemption that becomes the guiding influence of his life. Through acts of intrigue and deception he is lead to the awareness of the darker menace within a spiritual world that is unseen, but that he is no less involved in. He travels to the land of his ancestors, a place of majestic mountains and the valleys that lie between them that are settled by a people that exist in peace only because of the warriors that have fought and died to keep them so. Amazon has the e-version of Fool's Journey on a 99 cent countdown promotion until January 12

From Amazon reviewers:
"FOOL'S JOURNEY is written with wit, warmth, and wisdom. This novel is more than a mystery, though it's certainly a compelling one. It is an adult coming of age novel about an intelligent woman with a gift and a knack for attracting some very provocative and dangerous companions. Who can she really trust...? I loved this book! Brava!"

"I enjoyed this book immensely! The Fool's Journey had many twists and turns that kept the reader surprised and engaged. Mary Chase did an excellent job of developing the characters in this book as well as the past each character tries so desperately to escape. This book also shows the many sides to every story while showing that things are not always what they seem. The author sets the book in Seattle, where it is dreary more often than not. Adding to the images of Tarot readings, and hidden messages of Poetry, this book will definitely keep you awake until the end."

"This is the 2nd book I read by Comstock. It did not disappoint me. A good mystery and some magic. Just the right amount that you can believe it could happen."

TURN A BLIND EYE - mystery/suspense - Free on Amazon January 20 to 24, 2014

Hi Everyone – For those of you who like a whole lotta Florida with your mystery, I’d like to suggest TURN A BLIND EYE (A Florida Murder Mystery). It’s a good old-fashioned murder mystery involving treasure salvage, timeshare and drug smuggling set in the sunshine state.

Description: Eight years ago, Michigan retirees, Jack and Beverly Donnelly, had helped Libby Newton recover from an unspeakable tragedy. Now the tables are turned and it’s the old couple who need Libby’s help when the most recent consequences of Beverly’s progressing dementia have left the old couple homeless. Libby, now the general manager of Banyan Bay Resorts, one of Orlando’s premier timesharing properties, secretly stashes the old couple in a new luxury unit intended for the resort’s VIP guests until she can find them a new home. But the problems start almost immediately as Beverly’s dementia leaves her in a state of constant confusion over her unfamiliar surroundings and when she announces that she’s seen “Thanksgiving pilgrims” unloading boxes behind the resort’s pizzeria, Beverly’s announcement falls on deaf ears – until Rebecca Kendall, an attorney from Seattle, shows up at the resort a short time later, trying to retrace the last steps of her nineteen-year-old Amish daughter, found dead in a south Florida motel six weeks earlier. Libby doesn’t believe the two incidents are connected until Beverly is found dead a short time later, the tragic victim of a double homicide. With the help of her sister, Mia, who’s in Florida doing an exposé on the elusive treasure salvor, Dain Lyons, they retrace Beverly’s last steps – only to stumble upon a killer who soon has the sisters convinced that poor Beverly had been the sanest one of them all.

Trying a Brand New promotional method....

I have convinced my publisher to try something very unique (and never tried before I believe) as we promote Deepest Doors. While most eReader sites such as Amazon and Apple allow for sampling of a book, it is usually restricted to 20% or less. In an effort to build additional sales, I have talked my publisher into allowing readers to sample the first 75% free. My theory is that, if it is a good thriller, new readers will hit a point where they can’t put it down and complete the purchase.

Since Amazon and Apple do not allow for this adjustment, we have chosen another vendor, Smashwords, for this promotion. The book can be found at http://www.smashwords.com/books/view/353105. If you have not yet read the book, please check it out. You can read most of the book before deciding if you want to buy it.

Please check it out!
Thanks

First two books in Phillip McGuire mystery/suspense series published by Curiosity Quills. Tortured Truths introduces McGuire, a burnt-out foreign correspondent for good reason who after being released by the Hezbollah and their tortures returns to his university town to own and run a bar. Adventures come his way. The first one involves, wait for it, the Hezbollah.

The second, Heart Chants, features a half-Navajo, half-white character who believes he is a witch and can reopen the gates to the Holy People and receive new gifts to help the People deal with the White Man. Contains the best and most complete retelling of the amazing Navajo creation story that I know of that exists in fiction.

WARNING: SOMETHING ELSE IS HAPPENING is a dystopian fairy tale. In this novel, the fantasy creatures are e-beasts.

The title came from my niece Brynn’s linear algebra instructor at the University of Aberdeen, Scotland. He said it, and Brynn wrote it down. Obviously, someone had to write a book to go with such a great title.

If it were a movie, it would be rated PG. One minor character curses a blue streak because cursing is how he relates to his fellow man. But he is only in part of one chapter.

Synopsis:

A tribe of e-beasts called The Dreadful Night have a vendetta against the human race. They hurt people for fun.

Cel, an intelligent and idealistic e-beast, is on a hero’s quest to re-establish good order in Networld.

Something else happens instead

They always say, "Write what you know." Well, I know that I'm annoyed most of the time so I decided to write about everything that annoys me in this world. I Am Annoyed: One Man's Rants Against This Annoying World is a satirical book full of hilarious, outrageous, over-the-top, and sometimes very profane rants about all my annoyances. And here's something that's not annoying, my book is on sale for only 99 cents on the Amazon Kindle from now until the end of Sunday, Feb.9. If you're in the mood for something funny, please give my book a shot. Thanks for your time.

Hi Everyone - My book, CONTINUANCE, will be free on Amazon for the next five days and I hope you'll have a chance to check it out. It's for all readers who like history with their mystery. The book alternates between dual time periods - 1905 New York City and present day - and is two separate stories connected by the century-old remains discovered in a pirate's tunnel in modern-day Savannah during an FBI search for a kidnapped seven-year-old child, the son of a wealthy New York City real estate tycoon. If you liked the alternating time periods in Tess Gerritsen's THE BONE GARDEN, you'll like CONTINUANCE.

Chasing Prophecy

YA Thriller, 230 pages, Kindle Format
Published January, 2014

Teens escape from a religious cult. Key themes include romance, mystery, and a unique paranormal twist (not a paranormal romance, though). In exchange for an honest review, I’m offering a free e-book from Amazon.

Parental Advisory—If this were a movie, it would definitely be rated PG-13 or higher. There are a couple of f-bombs and s-bombs, along with other language scattered throughout. For romance, there’s a bit of teen smooching, but no sex or explicit sexual references. Drug trafficking is key to the plot, though it is not shown to be glamorous, and there is no actual drug use described. In terms of violence, there are a couple of deaths, one of which is not pretty. There is a bit of magical realism, though no magic or spells. It's about par for the course in terms of mainstream YA these days, but I know that's not for everyone. Please know this going in, and choose to read (or not read) accordingly. I’d be fine with my own son reading it when he’s 14, but it’s OK for others to disagree. Click below to see if this might be for you!

The No-Homework Women's Bible Study: Group Hug
by Christine Tate

Put the fun back in small group Bible study! Ideal for newly formed Women's Bible studies or existing groups, this light, fun, 8 week Bible Study encourages group discussion of biblical perspectives on everyday topics. Each weekly lesson begins with an "Ice Breaker" section to get the conversation flowing, then moves on to a "Promise from God" section to provide group focus. This is then followed by a "Scripture References" section to guide the conversation through God's word. Next, a "Commentary" section provides food-for-thought to stimulate the discussion. The next section, "Discussion Questions", leads the group into deeper analysis and self-examination. Then, the "Opt. Weekly Challenges" section provides suggestions for ways to translate thoughts into action during the upcoming week. Finally, there is a "Closing Prayer" section to wrap up the session. Unique in its approach, this Bible study focuses on forming strong group bonds and providing an opportunity for women to really get to know and support each other as sisters in Christ. Be sure to watch for Group Hug II to be released in early 2014 as part of this 6 part series! Available in paperback, Nook, iPad and Kindle formats.

Mr. Shipley's Governess

Read an excerpt...

Since Sebastian had given Anastasia a reprieve from schoolwork, Sophie had the rest of the day to herself. They’d just returned from their excursion to the park and Sophie was glad to be nice and cozy inside. Earlier, she had heard Anastasia’s giggles as she bantered with her grandfather. Apparently, they had been discussing which movie to settle in for that afternoon. She figured Sebastian and David had buried themselves under mounds of paperwork in the study. Left to her own devices, Sophie had taken a twenty-minute power nap. Now the restlessness set in and she decided to take a private tour of the London townhouse. Sebastian had given permission to explore to her heart’s content. However, she still felt like Belle from Beauty and the Beast and hoped her wanderings remained free of any hidden discoveries—like the Beast’s covered rose.

Sophie stepped out of her room and began roaming through the upstairs hallway. She found a narrow staircase at the end of the hall, which looked like the passageway to the servants’ quarters of a bygone era. As she climbed her way to the top, she reached another doorway. Hoping it opened, she turned the knob. Cobwebs and dust met her senses and she coughed as she entered. Now she truly felt like Belle, ready for Sebastian to come up after her growling that she’d intruded on sacred family ground.

Realizing she stepped into the attic, she moved slowly, groping for a light switch. Noticing a string hanging from the ceiling, she pulled it. A single light bulb illuminated the room. She saw at once that she’d come upon a treasure trove of family heirlooms and memories. Sensory overload halted her progress and then a large, worn-looking brown leather book caught her eye. Gingerly stepping on the floor boards, she mentally thanked the person that had placed the wooden planks across the rafters.

Sophie reached for the book and opened the cover, as dust filled her nostrils, causing her to sneeze. One by one, she began slowly turning the faded pages and saw a younger version of Alexander and, she assumed, his wife. Continuing to peruse the book, she noticed their two young sons. As she reached the middle pages, she observed Sebastian on his wedding day. Sophie gasped—she already thought he was handsome—but in the photo, his happiness shone through. Suddenly overwhelmed and saddened for all that he and his daughter had lost when Katherine passed away, she started tearing up. Closing the book, she held it to her chest. She wanted to find love someday with someone, hopefully Sebastian—like he had shared with his wife.

Hi Everyone - My book, THE TIES THAT BIND, will be free on Amazon on March 17 to 21, 2014. The genre is mystery/suspense. I hope you have the chance to check it out. A little about the book:

In this standalone prequel to TOO LITTLE, TOO LATE…Four years ago, Brooke Connelly made the biggest mistake of her life when she betrayed her mobster boyfriend by tipping off the intended victim of his next hit. Thanks to her timely intervention, Chaz Longo was able to flee Las Vegas while Brooke opted to stay behind; a decision that nearly cost Brooke her life after she was beaten and left for dead by her boyfriend in retaliation for her betrayal. In desperation, Brooke turned to one of the most powerful men in Las Vegas for protection – unaware that her arrangement with Clint Staebler was non-negotiable and permanent.

Brooke has since relocated to L.A., where she’s the general manager of a popular restaurant and nightclub, both owned by Clint Staebler. With her recent engagement to a prominent Beverly Hills doctor and the impending arrival of their baby through a surrogate, Brooke is determined to cut all ties to her past but the cards seem to be stacked against her when her fiancé is enlisted to treat Chaz Longo, barely alive after foolishly returning to Vegas and crossing paths with Brooke’s former boyfriend. Brooke’s life is further complicated when her fiancé finds out about her past relationship with Clint Staebler and demands to know where her loyalties lie, especially after Chaz is later gunned down in Clint’s nightclub and Brooke is strangely reluctant to quit her job. Caught between a murderer and a man who refuses to let her go at all costs, Brooke plays her one trump card in the hopes that it will be powerful enough to sever her ties to her past, once and for all.

This is a sweeping murder mystery set against the glitzy backdrop of Vegas and the ostentatious wealth of L.A. where family secrets are exposed, past mistakes are never forgotten and revenge is what makes it all worthwhile…

It's Release Day for the paperback edition of my near-future novel, Division! So of course, I'm providing a link (Amazon -- B&N will follow) and a short blurb.

The link: http://www.amazon.com/Division-Karen-Wyle/dp/1493775987/. (You can find the book on Amazon's UK and India stores, with more to come, via http://smarturl.it/Division-paperback.) And here's the blurb (complete with third-person reference to yours truly):

-----------

Conjoined twins Gordon and Johnny have never let their condition keep them from living full and fulfilling lives. Now, new technology gives them a previously unimagined choice: to live in "normal," separate bodies. But who gets to choose? And what if one twin considers their conjoined life a blessing, not to be abandoned without a fight?

Division, like Wyle's earlier novels, uses original settings and situations to explore universal themes: the complexity and intensity of family relationships, the nature of individual identity, and the far-reaching effects of the choices we make.

-----------

At the moment (I don't know for how long), the paperback is available at a 10% discount. The paperback also comes with a free Kindle copy.

My first book, “For the Wounded Soul” is very special to me. In fact, so much so, that I got the title tattooed on my ankle. It was such a painful experience because the ankle is such a delicate area of the body, but it exemplified the title of the book and the pain was worth it.

The Editorial Review of the book at http://tinyurl.com/woundedsoul

The book, ‘For The Wounded Soul‘ was released on October 26, 2011. This 352 page book contains several compelling and gripping true stories of individuals who have experienced abuse, domestic violence, addiction, rape, prostitution, infidelity, death of a loved one, serving time in prison, alcoholism, adoption and more. Every page in this book makes you want to turn the next page. You won’t be able to put it down.

The author connects the dots by cleverly inserting her life story to make it more interesting and more life-like. You will feel her pain, sympathize with her and the others mentioned in the stories and finally realize at the end that we all are truly connected in more ways than we think. This is a MUST HAVE, book for your library.

The author tries to exemplify that what you go through may serve to empower you; if you look for the good in it and to always remember that you are never alone. Others go through similar things and still come out victorious and you can too! This book is enlightening, truly powerful, motivating, encouraging, and dynamic and an absolutely exceptional read.

I'm Randy Attwood. I was recently interviewed on one of those web-based radio stations, this one was located in Lawrence, KS. It was a fascinating experience. I talked about my writing life in a way I have never expressed before. The show is archived and you can get to it by going to my recent blog post: http://www.randyattwood.blogspot.com/

My most recent novel, published by Curiosity Quills, is "Heart Chants," and it is being favorably compared to Tony Hillerman. One New Mexico reviewer said it was better and gave more information about the Navajo and their culture and history than Hillerman does. A great compliment. I think and believe "Heart Chants" has the best most complete retelling of the amazing Navajo creation story that exists in a work of fiction.

Happy to chat with any readers who are interested in the Navajo or Native American cultures.

A decade later she is the famous Red Rider, slayer of hundreds of werewolves. For anyone looking for juvenile horror, please check out my Raven Archives series by Dr. I. Seymour Youngblood...

SCREAM VACATION...Carter's spring break is a total bust. His family was Orlando bound until his twin sisters, Maren & Macee, sabotaged his dream vacation with their dorky ghost-hunting obsession. Now, he's stuck in some "haunted" backwoods cabin in the middle of nowhere all because his sister's favorite show is filming there during spring break. But what Carter always made fun, his sister's love of the supernatural, turns out to be no laughing matter on their SCREAM VACATION.

THE PRETTY GIRL...“Pelham, smell ‘em. Pelham, smell ‘em.” Kids can be so mean. They had been chanting that phrase since kindergarten. Even at five years old Pelham was not a cool kid, and her classmates never let her forget it. She wasn’t good at school, or sports, and definitely not good at talking with boys. That was all before she found the magic mirror that seemed an answer to her prayers. Day after day after day her wishes came true, but at what price? Was she living a dream, or was she wishing herself into a nightmare? The mirror could reveal her heart’s desire, but would she abuse the power before it could transform her into what she always wanted to be...The Pretty Girl?

ENTOMOPHOBIA...She heard the sound of a thousand angry insects, chattering. The last thing Lexi heard was a voice, “She will join us or she will die.” It was a dream. Just a dream. And for a while, Lexi believed that. In real life, she was a winner. Anything she put her mind to, which was any competition, she excelled. She didn't care about being popular, but she cared about winning. And Lexi wasn’t about to start losing to the new girl at school. Each time Jill won, it bugged Lexi. When the new girl started winning over Lexi’s friends, it set Lexi's skin to crawling. Not to mention that the dreams were getting worse. Was Lexi really suffering from jealousy or a major case of Entomophobia?

They are intended for ages 8-14 and are available in all formats at Amazon, Barnes&Noble, and Smashwords.

Thank you and have a great day.

Hi Everyone - My new book, NO HARD FEELINGS, a Kate Stanton Mystery is free on Amazon from May 18 - 22, 2014 and I invite you to go to Amazon and download it. It's the second book in the Kate Stanton Mystery series and this one involves Kate Stanton, the feisty semi-retired real estate broker and her two granddaughters, Liz and Karen.

Current Ranking on Amazon: 4.2 out of 5 stars on 11 reviews; #4 on Amazon for Family Sagas

Here's a bit more about the book:

Some secrets can’t stay hidden, especially when they involve murder…Liz Farrell is still reeling over the murder of her mother almost a year earlier at the hands of her father, Leo Bauer, when she receives the startling news that she’s inherited her estranged father’s sizable estate. Unable to come to terms with her father’s unspeakable legacy, Liz and her grandmother, Kate Stanton, visit Leo’s property in Benedict Canyon, desperately hoping to find closure. Instead, they find a bunker hidden under an old hunting lodge that had been used by Leo at one time to hold Liz’s mother captive. Horrified by the discovery, Liz immediately orders the bunker filled and the lodge destroyed but the ensuing demolition quickly comes to a grinding halt after a man’s remains are discovered in a shallow grave at the base of the old lodge. Once the press get wind of the gruesome discovery, rumors quickly surface, linking the remains to a murder spree that took place at the same address almost half a century earlier; a murder spree conveniently covered up by the governor at the time who also happened to be Leo Bauer’s stepbrother. Liz and Kate’s efforts to uncover the truth behind the murders are soon hampered by family secrets and a killer who’s intent on finishing the job started almost fifty years ago.

Hi Everyone,

I'm C.A. Pack and my YA fantasy Chronicles: The Library of Illumination recently came out. It's about a couple of teens chosen to oversee the operation of a very unique library.

If you opened a book and the characters sprang to life, what would you do? Run away? Pretend you’re not quaking in your shoes? Or accept it with equal measures of awe and respect because, hey, where else could you meet Mary Poppins, Albert Einstein, or Tarzan—in the flesh. This is the dilemma 17-year-old Johanna Charette and 16-year-old Jackson Roth face when they first arrive at the Library of Illumination. They find opening books in an enchanted library fun ... adventurous ... and sometimes dangerous. But any problems cause by living literature pale against what’s waiting for them on the other side of a disguised portal—and make no mistake—it will soon have them thinking, “there’s no place like home.”

"...Charms and thrills in equal measures ... literary brilliance ... come for the literary sights and sounds, stay for Pack's miraculously fine-tuned imagination."
Kirkus Reviews (starred review)

"This book is truly unique and has the reader thirsting for more pages to turn as the adventure unfolds. I must give this book two thumbs way up, for extraordinary imagination and storytelling at its best."

Hello, I'm the author of The Descendant of Destiny. It is the first novel in the United Kammbia Trilogy.

Here's some info:

What is Destiny?

Is destiny something to be shaped by your own hands?

Is destiny something to be shaped by other people?

Or is there a higher power that ultimately shapes our destiny?

This is the journey that Diondray Azur of Charlesville embarks upon when he learns of the existence of The Book of Kammbi. The book reveals an ancient prophecy that can only be fulfilled by a descendant of Oscar Ortega, one of Kammbia’s greatest men. All signs point to Diondray as the one destined to fulfill this prophecy. Diondray, however, he does not believe in the prophecy—and thus begins the journey toward his destiny.

You can order the book from my website: http://marion-hill.com/ Also, I've giving away 5 signed copies on the Library Thing Member Giveaway as well.

WAR, SUFFERING AND THE HEALING POWER OF LOVE:

My novel, The Lion of Kabul, is free today (Sunday 22nd of June) and can be downloaded from the link below (would love some reviews):

http://www.amazon.com/kindle-store/dp/B009N9VGPW

“There are things in life I've learned I cannot change: I am an orphan. I grew up in poverty, poverty of the most wretched kind. I shall never forget the fear, the deprivation, the sense of hopelessness. At a young age, I witnessed the horrors of this world; etched in my memory are gruesome, macabre images, images that I cannot erase. For as long as I live, they will always be there—that I know.” These are the words of Ali Iqbal, orphaned at age five, forced to flee his homeland at age nine, abandoned by his foster parents at age eleven. Now happily married and living in America, one night he receives a phone call that throws his world into utter disarray. He must go back to the place of his childhood, to rescue his friend Ahmet—a friend he owes his life to.

The hero of this novel, Ali Iqbal, is scarred by the traumatic events of his past and his heart is full of hate. But he is special: with an intelligence second to none, a talent (painting) that helps him cope with his sorrow and anger, and an ironclad heart that gives him the strength to endure and persevere, he travels from Afghanistan to Turkey and then to America.

This novel is the story of Ali's transformation. It carries with it a very important message that will resonate meaningfully given the times that we live in: that the Eastern world and Western world can co-exist peacefully; that the cultural, historical and political barriers that separate us are not insurmountable, because it is the humanity within us that makes us who we are.

Dear authors and readers,

I've written my first book on strength training and wanted to share it with the world. After reading books on fitness and strength training for many years, I got tired of all the conflicting info and long repetitive methods described in them and decided that it is time to mix all the experience and information I've got throughout my 11 years in the gym into a compact book. It contains beneficial information for both beginners and advance lifters. The book is available everywhere, I’ll just post some of the main channels. Here are the main points you can find covered inside:
• Keeping your natural Testosterone and Human Growth Hormone at healthy levels.
• Creating a healthy eating lifestyle based around fasting and manipulation of your macros that is intuitive.
• Achieving balanced daily regime while reducing stress and increasing your mental focus.
• A specifically made list of supplements that will enhance your overall health and strength which are proven to work.
• How to build strength and the mentality to reach your goals.
• A powerlifting based program that will turn your body into a biomechanical machine destroying every limitation.
• A detailed guide how to perform each exercise to perfection.
• Life and training tips that can translate into every part of your life, and more.

Once you find out your mother is an extraterrestrial, what ISN’T possible?

That’s what 11-year-old Anne and 10-year-old Atticus Reade want to know. Minutes after finding out their mother is from the planet Farbookonia and both parents are in danger because of a secret project they’re working on, the children are wrenched from a sheltered existence in the Midwest and whisked off to sleep-away camp in New Jersey — each with an invisible, protective, and sometimes annoying Globot on one shoulder.

Painfully aware they’re not like the others at camp, Anne and Atticus do their best to fit in while concealing their alien background and the “special talents” that go with it. But everything is so new to them, they have a hard time sorting reality from fiction. Quirky campers, campfire ghost stories, a bizarre camp director, Sci-Fi Fridays, Anne’s mysterious dreams, and Atticus’s unusual animal encounters are all equally unsettling.

Just as they’re starting to get the hang of life among young Earth humans, news of their parents’ secret project hits camp, the children discover that some campers are connected through a parent’s past, and things that are truly strange emerge from normal newness. It turns out Anne and Atticus — and their new friends — may not be safe at camp after all.

Friendships are forged in this summer to remember, even as Anne and Atticus are thrust into a reality they wish was fiction.

~Description~

A remarkable coming-of-age novel that brilliantly weaves together the domestic dramas of Jane Austen, the foreboding atmosphere of the Bronte sisters, the simmering passions of the romantic poets, and the intrigue of fairy folklore.

1830's ENGLAND- Caroline Fyfe presents herself as a dutiful daughter, an imaginative storyteller, and a literature enthusiast. But on the inside, she is a restless and heartbroken young woman who is still in love with Tom Daley - her married, childhood friend. With the support of her sensible sister, Maryanne, Caroline attempts to move on with her life by finding another suitor. However, the new future that she envisioned is disrupted when Tom makes a shocking declaration: he doesn't think his pregnant wife is human. It sounds like a plot from Caroline's story game, yet Tom's declining health causes her to question what is true and what is fiction. The tight hold she has over her desires begins to loosen, and Caroline makes an impetuous decision that will alter her life - and the lives of her family - in devastating ways.

Dreams and Reason is a powerful literary debut about identity, friendship, forgiveness, the nature of sanity, and the human strength to persevere.

Korea 38-Parallels, a contemporary historical novel by Hoyle Leigh, MD, based on his experiences of growing up in divided Koreas, and the experiences of his family and friends through the Korean War, North Korean prison camps, and becoming a psychiatrist in America.

When Bo Moon takes his seven-year-old son to a ski resort in Utah, he sees smoke rising in the mountains. This one magical moment takes the psychiatrist back to a painful part of his life, when all he could focus on was survival. “Smoke rises in the distant mountain” was one of the first phrases he was taught in Korean. Bo’s parents, Suk and Yunhee, had been desperate to remove any trace of their Japanese background, as the Korean peninsula was torn apart by infighting and eventually war.
Bo looks back on his childhood, first in the Manchurian frontier. Bo Moon and his parents make it on the last southbound train to Seoul, South Korea, when their home in Manchuria is destroyed by the invading Russian Red Army. Bo is only three at the time and doesn’t understand why his parents, Suk and Yunhee, are worried about him speaking Japanese or revealing his heritage. He has a strained relationship with his father, Suk, who gave up a career in education to join the often-corrupt police force. Yunhee, on the other hand, sacrifices everything for her son when the North Korean invasion pushes them into a refugee camp.
Bo is not Suk’s only son. His eldest boy, Hoon, finds a career in the Communist forces of North Korea. As Bo struggles to adjust to life in Seoul and is once again displaced by the North Korean invasion, Hoon is plotting a murder. He believes the only way to get rid of the patriarchal fascism of Korea is to kill his own father.
Meanwhile, in Pyongyang, a young woman faces the horrors of North Korean labor camps, and a sadistic officer plots his revenge against his father—Suk Moon! Bo and Hoon are linked not just by blood but by fate. The two half brothers are destined to meet in this thrilling family saga about life and love during wartime.
The stories of these disparate people will entangle and collide in this vivid portrait of a nation torn apart.

"One of the cleverest stories I've read this year. It’s not strictly science fiction, not strictly dystopian and it’s not strictly Philip Marlowe either, although I think it could be described as a smashup of all of these influences. It's whip-smart, well-paced, deeply satirical and dappled with just enough dark and light to keep the reader riveted"
ANNE CUNNINGHAM (IRISH INDEPENDENT, IRISH TIMES, SUNDAY TIMES OF LONDON)

"Brave New World meets 1984 in this Big Brother masterpiece."
KRISTI ELIZABETH, SAN FRANCISCO BOOK REVIEW

"Freaking amazing. Any agent or publishing house that passed this up made a big mistake. This is also a nomination for our Novel of the Year award. Captivating and timely, with a perfect bittersweet ending." SANDRA RUTTAN, UNDERGROUND BOOK REVIEWS

"A quality piece of work." SFCROWSNEST

"A satisfying blend of literary inspection, social commentary, dystopian world analysis and individual dilemmas to keep readers guessing and thinking to the end of Billy's perplexing, fast-paced day. The satire involved is so delicate that initial references might slip by readers at first; but as the story progresses, these insights and references become tangible, recognizable parts of a plot that readers will come to anticipate with delight. Highly recommended." DIANE DONOVAN, MIDWEST BOOK REVIEW

My second historical novel, "Alsoomse and Wanchese," about the Algonquian natives at and near Roanoke Island in 1583 leading up to the first appearance of English explorers seeking a place to establish a colony, was published May 28. The following appears on the novel back cover.

“Mother, I want to question things. Know the why of things. Decide things. Why must weroances, priests, and a husband – kind or not -- decide who I must be?”
“We gave you your name for a reason.”
“That is not an answer.”
“Be respectful, child, dutiful. The gods have taught us our roles. We must obey them, please them. We must please also the wise ones who speak to them. Life is perilous, Alsoomse. Kiwasa makes it so. Weigh what you think before you act. Accept.”

He marveled at the potency of his temper. He was surprised that his blow to Askook’s head had not been followed by a fist to the throat and a crushing knee to the side of the skull.
He savored the idea.
Something inside him had interfered.
Had Askook been a Pomouik, he would not have hesitated. He was a warrior. Any man who chose to make himself an enemy needed to beware.
Askook had laid bare his deficiency.

Roanoke Island. 1583. Hunter’s Moon. Rejecting tribal conformity, deciding for themselves what is true, what is just, desiring independence, accomplishment, fulfillment, 17-year-old Alsoomse and 19-year-old Wanchese take flight.

Heeeeeyyyyy Everyone 🥰🥰🥰

My name is Lashonda Lee and I am a new, first time, self published author. I wrote a short, nonfiction, romance novel about how I set out to look for a job and ended up receiving way more than what I was searching for. Although while reading it, you may think that myself and my husband are the main characters, but nope, he is actually behind the scenes. My novel is filled with love, hope and humor.

You can purchase a copy from Amazon on the link below as an ebook or paperback. Hope you enjoy it. 🥰🥰🥰

This smart, sassy satire covers how she abolishes the IRS, stops war, then gets down to work attacking illiteracy and the crazy education system that traps people in financial straightjackets. >1 EllenLEkstrom: Grace Allison Blair, Award-Winning Author is a modern Christian Mystic and an award-winning self-help and motivational author who has assisted thousands to find their spiritual wisdom to solve everyday challenges.
Grace Blair describes herself as “a prime example of someone who pulled herself up by her bootstraps and took notes along the way.” When she turned to writing, she chose subjects that she was intimately familiar with—and their scope is surprising.

Einstein's Compass a YA Time Traveler Adventure

"...a riveting fantasy about soul-searching and growth which will keep young adult readers engrossed to the end." —D. Donovan, Senior Reviewer, Midwest Book Review

Einstein's Compass by Grace Blair is a "YA Time Traveler Adventure." Historical fantasy science fiction. The book intertwines events in Albert Einstein's life with fantastical elements while including scientific concepts. Topics that emerge include coming of age, antisemitism, and bullying.

Most of us are familiar with Einstein's legacy as a scientific genius and a giant of physics. But where did his ideas originate? How can one person be so brilliant? Imagine he has been reborn into the modern world after living the life of a spiritual leader in ancient Atlantis, where science and the divine made sense.

Einstein's Compass centers on Albert, his friend Johann, a classmate named Werner Von Weisel, and two villains named Raka and Countess Victoria von Baden. As a young boy, Albert's father gave him a jeweled compass. We later learn the compass originally belonged to Countess von Baden's family. It has magical qualities which only Albert and Johann are aware of. Raka, Albert's twin brother thousands of years ago, has always been jealous of Albert and wishes him harm. Raka learns the compass contains a powerful stone called the Shamir stone, and he uses Werner and the Countess to exact revenge and take the compass for himself.
The book includes "Mystical Travelers" famous biblical and scientific persons like Moses, Jesus, and Newton, who guide Albert along the path to rediscovering his forgotten knowledge destined to affect the word.

Einstein's Compass is a fascinating blend of the factual and the fantastical with enough of the metaphysical to leave readers wondering what is possible and what is reality. Imagine that a Wrinkle in Time meets The Chronicles of Narnia with a little Harry Potter thrown into the mix.

"The more I learn of physics, the more I am drawn to metaphysics."
- Albert Einstein

It is part science, part science fiction, part fantasy, part thriller, and all fun for young adults on up.
