Uncle Stevie for what ever reason you like to scare us by saying you will never write again, I'm so pleased when I realize it's just a joke, you can't stop writing any more than I can stop reading. This is a story in a story in a story. Once upon a bye. The words are clever, the story is wonderful and I could have read non stop. You don't have to read the Dark Tower series for this, it stands alone just fine all by its self. Uncle Stevie rarely gives the warm and fuzzies but I have a smile and a contented feeling after finishing this book. A constant reader am I.

Highly reccomended

Just bought it but want to finish the book I'm on before reading it, now looking forward to it even more!

I just finished The Wind Through the Keyhole and posted my review. I had mixed feelings but it was, as ever, an entertaining read. I think it only took me 2-3 days.

I had left off my reading of the series just after finishing Wizard and Glass a few years back, so I was ready when The Wind Through The Keyhole arrived. It was a very nice break from the usual stuff I read. As usual, Uncle Stevie did not disappoint. I had waited over six months between ordering my copy (pre-publication) and receivng it. The wait was worthwhile, but, unfortunately it was a quick read. I finished in about three days. Now, onward and upward to finish the Dark Tower series, as I never did read those last three, which were published 2003-4, even though they've sat on my shelf for a few years.

> 4 snap!

I have had the last few sat on my shelves for a few years now and have never got round to finishing for some reason. I bought the new one today and now I have the urge to finish but I think I am going to have to start from the beginning as it has been so long. Should I leave The Wind Through the Keyhole to the end or between books 4 and 5? I think I read that this is where it takes place?

MissDotty if you want to read them in order then it goes between 4 and 5

Just read this last night in one sitting (finished about 2am, was far too tired to do my job properly today, good job I'm just an office worker and not a brain surgeon or something!)

Really enjoyed it, very very easy to read and I liked the way it was mostly unconnected with the other DT books apart from the setting, the backdrop of Roland telling the story to Jake, Susannah and Eddie, and a few small nods such as Bix's parting shout about Andy (and a couple of others that I won't mention for fear of spoiling!)

There's an interesting comparison with Desperation as well.

I was quite concerned about this book as the Dark Tower series seemed pretty much concluded but it doesn't impinge on what we already know either by revealing anything that it shouldn't reveal, or adding anything that should have been referred to in the other books, so I was pleased about that, and the story (stories!) were brilliantly written and expertly merged.

To echo beeg... highly recommended!
