A boy called Carrots in an orphanage...his friend Pat Malone...climbing Cader Idris...that's all I have!
Written some time before 1960 but I don't know any more.
If by some miracle you know the title and author of this book I'd be very grateful indeed.

It may be well to post this inquiry on a group devoted to book identification here on LT or to search/post the Loganberry Books "stump the bookseller" site.
Some questions will help to narrow things down a bit.
Was this read in the US or a UK country?
Was it a novel (100pp+) or a picturebooks?
If a picturebook, how big was it?
Did you own it or get it from a library?
What else happened in the story?
Any guesses as to words in the title?
These and other questions helped me identify many books for bookstore clients in the 1990s when I managed an open shop antiquarian bookstore devoted to old children's books.
