Charles Dickens' 200th Birthday is February 7th, 2012,
and we are celebrating by reading his works during this ReadaThing!!
Let us know which Dickens' work you are or will be reading.
Will you be re-reading it?
Let us know... join in!!
If you are in another Dickens Read, let us know!!
If it is an LT group, give us a link!
and we'll have a "Dickens" of a good time!
(sorry, I can't resist a good word-play)

Ooops. I put my "What Dickens I'm Reading" on the wrong page. I'll say again that I've started Barnaby Rudge, which is at the bottom of my personal Dickens list. I'll still be reading it in February, I'm afraid.

>2 LizzieD: I'll be honest. I've never even heard of Barnaby Rudge before.
I'll be reading Great Expectations with the 12 in 12 Challenge Group.

Jill, *BR* is one of Dickens's two historical novels and centers around the Gordon Riots of 1780 when the government had tried to lift some regulations against Roman Catholics. Ah gee... I really know nothing about this, so it's a good thing I'm reading the book. It's a fairly early one.

jillbone, I too, will be reading Great Expectations with The 12 in 12 Challenge Group as well as here. I'm looking forward to it.
Thank you Skittles, for setting this up for up. It is appreciated!

Great choice!!
I'll be listening to and/or reading Sketches by Boz . . . or if I've finished it by then (starting today) I'll move on to Pickwick Papers.
Could someone add some Dates on the signup table? . . . I'm already confused trying to figure out the slots . . . Is the signup for CD's birthday on the 7th or for just the beginning of the RT (Feb 2 1am NZ time??) . . . if we want to signup for later times when will we do that? (Sorry, I haven't been on LT for a while so just seeing this info today via the LT blog.)
Thanks!

#6: There are dates (Mon, Tues, Wed, etc.) in the chart at Noon & Midnight. There isn't a lot of room for more without making the chart larger and many people have small monitors, so I don't like to go large.
IIRC, CD's Birthday is Tuesday, so you can sign up for Tuesday Times... and you can go for as many hours as you want.
There is also a Dickens Readers signup near the bottom:

Post here or PM me if you have any further questions....

I was planning to read Claire Tomalin's Charles Dickens; a life during the Readathing. Does that count?

I am going to finish reading A woman in Black by Susan Hill and then I don't know what I will be reading.
