I'm not sure how many in each category I'll read. 12 for sure in a few groups, maybe only 6 in some of the others.
1. Shakespeare: one play a month, inspired by Shakespeare Allowed! in Nashville. I'm going to follow their schedule (http://nashvilleshakes.org/shakespeareallowed.htm).
2. Star Wars: one a month
3. Modern Nations: to both round-out my knowledge of modern nations, and make a little headway on my Reading Globally challenge.
4. Israel: non-fiction books related to Israel
5. Hebrew language: fiction (or non-) written in Hebrew
6. Education: mainly focusing on Charlotte Mason's Original Home Education Series (six books).
7. Mystery
8. Fantasy
9. Young Adult
10. SciFi: excluding Star Wars; I joined the Geek Girls Book Club on Facebook, and am looking forward to expanding my scifi background.
11. Fiction: fiction that doesn't fit into topics 7, 8, 9, or 10.
12. Non-Fiction: NF that doesn't fit into topics 3, 4, or 5.

Goal for the year: 84
That's way more than I've accomplished in the last couple years, but I used to read that much in a normal year. I finish graduate school this summer, so before then I will probably focus on the non-fiction groups; and after graduation will read more fiction. Unless I have a breakdown in the spring semester and handle it by curling up under the covers with a bunch of brain candy. :)

My usual MO back when I was in university - spend the weekend reading fiction and then a few night studying for exams. :)
welcome on board and good luck

Brain candy is definitely a good idea for a student. Mine were Star Trek novels (any series) of which there were plenty!

I completely sympathize with your school load. I'm also due to finish graduate school this summer. Here's to us graduating successfully and having lots of extra time to pleasure read!

Thanks! Good luck to you, as well. I have a month left of this semester, and then the spring semester ends the first week of July (although final papers won't be due until a month or so after that). I can see the finish line...

V. Hebrew language: fiction (or non-) written in Hebrew
1. לא רעב ולא אוהב: The Hebrew version of Green Eggs and Ham, or as it's called in Hebrew, "Not Hungry, Don't Like". And I only had to look up thirteen words in the dictionary!
2. חתול תעלול: The Hebrew version of The Cat in the Hat, or as it's called in Hebrew, "Mischievous Cat". I had to look up 42 words this time!
3. חתול תעלול חוזר: The Hebrew version of The Cat in the Hat Comes Back, or as it's called in Hebrew, "Mischievous Cat Returns". Only had to look up 16 words!

Hate to tell you this, but I finished graduate school over a year and a half ago, and my reading-free-time didn't increase at all! Good luck with that! :)

4/84, added my first fantasy book today. Very grateful to my Secret Santa for picking it out!

7/84: Another Shakespeare play. I misread the Shakespeare Allowed! schedule, and ended up reading Henry IV instead of Henry VI. *sigh* I think I'll go ahead and read King Henry V, followed by the three parts of King Henry VI. Then I can pick up where the group is at, and I should only have to go back to read three plays I missed when I got confused.

I am, at least more than I thought I would. I think it helps that I've been studying for 3+ semesters now. When I first tried to read these same Dr. Seuss books last year, I found it extremely frustrating. I still have to look up lots of words (as you can see), but now I don't find so disappointing when I need the dictionary. Maybe it's because I've mastered enough grammatical concepts that I'm no longer struggle with duel obstacles, whereas last year I could look up new words and *still* not be sure of what the sentence was saying because I didn't realize certain words were contractions I hadn't learned.

And you are probably right. Until you have a firm grasp of the grammar, reading in a foreign language is a pain. Once you get that... dictionaries help and it works. Good luck with your studies.

13/84: my third Star Wars book. I'm trying to read a few extra this month, because my dad is visiting and is carrying my read-books out of country for me (so I don't have to pay to ship them when I leave this fall).
36AngelaB86
16/84: read the first three Walking Dead volumes, since I'm enjoying the tv show so much. I have to say, the show is a big improvement.
38AngelaB86
18/84: another Walking Dead volume. At this rate I should get through them all this weekend.
40AngelaB86
25/84: read volumes 8-12 of Walking Dead today. Only two more to go, and then I'm caught up with what's been published (and will likely stop reading).
41AngelaB86
27/84: two more Walking Dead volumes. I will not be continuing the series. I only read this far because I borrowed them all from my uncle, but I can't continue with the author's worldview, or opinion of humanity in general.
43AngelaB86
29/84: another Star Wars, except this one is so short it barely qualifies as a short story.
46AngelaB86
33/84: another SW.
I hesitate to say it, but by this time next year I may be caught up with the Star Wars publications.

37/84: another SW. I've completed the Legacy of the Force series. I think I'll go cry now...
51AngelaB86
38/84: another SW. Definitely more of a light story than they've been publishing lately, but I enjoyed it.
