Christmas Ideas

Christmas ornaments ideas... Just to throw around I guess, something to talk about! :)

There are flour ornaments you can make with handprints on them if you have little children. You can also use thin cardboard from a dr pepper box and print out disney color sheets and glue them on and make ornaments out of that! lol I have had to go as cheap as possible this christmas but so far it has been fun. I made paper garland with disney characters on it to wrap around the tree, and I am going to make a plastic wreath out of a coat hanger.

I've been having a lot of fun decorating my apartment with fabric cut-outs. I learned from a blogger how cornstarch and water make an adhesive that will stick fabric to walls, and peel off without leaving any marks. I raided my fabric stash (and bought some dirt cheap, plain t-shirts) to cut out different things (characters from books, things that remind me of home, kitchen utensils, etc) and stuck them up around the place.

I'm thinking about making some snowflakes or candy canes or something this way, to decorate for the holidays.

It's very simple: 1 tablespoon cornstarch for one cup of cold water, bring to a boil and let cool completely. You can also use 1 tablespoon cornstarch for 2 cups of water.

Then brush it on to the back of your fabric, and once it's on the wall paint over the edges to smooth them down.
