I thought I'd read that n APOD a while back, but it must have been somewhere else.
I've become pretty blasé about most space stuff over the years, but this is the thing that really blows me away.

It entered this "quiet" zone April 2010. The article didn't say how much its traveled in the zone. I'd like to know how thick the thing is.
I'd also like to know where voyager 1 is exiting. I assume the shape of the heliopause is similar to the shape of the deflected solar wind around the earth or jupiter etc; i.e. shaped kinda like a spermatozoa.
So is voyager 1 exiting out the "head" or out the tail?
Am I explaining this alright?
