Teams of the 90's

What teams do you think were one of the best in the 1990's

New York Yankees, World Series Champs 1996, 1998, 19999

Toronto won in '92 and '93 so they'd have to be up there. Oakland made the playoffs several times but didn't win in the 90s. Atlanta kept losing in the World Series, but kept making it, and Pittsburgh was pretty damn good until Bonds left. Hard to believe but it wasn't really all that long ago that small market teams could compete and win.

Although Oakland got upset by a clearly inferior Reds team in the 1990 World Series, they were a very, very good club. And by "inferior Reds team," I don't mean they weren't a good team, just not anywhere as good as the A's that year. Of course, anything can happen in a short series.

But the '98 Yanks, given that they broke the record for wins in a season, would have to be considered the best, I guess.

The Braves won five pennants and one World Series, but the Yankees are the team of the 90's. They won 3 World Series titles and the '98 team may have been one of the greatest of all time.
