So many smart things said in this article, I couldn't possibly quote them all without quoting the entire article:

In a way it's reassuring to assess the adjective "well read" as something that can never possibly mean the same thing for any two people; and to know that even if I could read at four, five or ten times my current pace, that would only be an insignificant percentage better than what I'm capable of, on the grand scale of measuring against everything that's available to read.

In the same way we are all individuals in spirit and mind, we must all be individuals in our quest to be 'well read' and tread our own paths.
