Okay, so here we sit in June. November is months away. Script Frenzy has only been done for a month and a few days...

Anyone already starting to plan for this coming November?

Oh, yes. I'm researching like mad and hoping to be ready to do some writing come November.

Thinking? Yes.

Actual work? Like research or outlining? Of course not.

Also thinking, but might start working on one story soon, and then think of another for Nano...

Thinking, yes, me too but not so sure about actually doing it.

Its funny. I took last year off after doing it five years in a row. I had the most relaxed series of holidays in almost ten years.

Now I'm pondering doing it again this year. I've got an idea I've been stewing in my fantasy cooker for the past two years that may get the treatment, if for nothing else than impetus to get the writing started.

Well, I don't know about November, but I'm thinking about participating in Camp NaNo in July. Anybody else?

7> victoriapl Its a debate. Still lots going on for the summer. NaNo creates more stress on me than I want to admit. Plus the plot bunnies are cowering away from my three stories about cats. Something about not wanting to get eaten...

Hi everybody, new here. I'm going for my third NaNo win, so I've been planning, plotting, and note-taking for several months already. I always look forward to November, even if it's with mixed feelings - like scared, insecure, etc. I'm beginning to feel this November is already a bit too close for comfort, but I'll be there with bells on. I'm Catana, if anyone needs a buddy.

Agh - thank god it's not just me! But I'm still harking back to last year - I finished my 50k but am prob another 50k off finishing it and had hoped to finish it before Nov so I could start clean.

Needless to say, that did not happen. I keep telling myself there's time - but I'm reaching the point I need to be honest and say, well, probably not.

Heck, I'm so busy with Camp NaNo, I don't even want to think about November.

Actually, I'm thinking about throwing in the pen and trying again in November. I realized that I don't like stress writing in the summer. It's too hot to do that. Even the appeal of virtual cabins arn't pulling me... blech.

Okay, yes, I am thinking about November.

Meeting with my writing buddy in 15 minutes. . . Yeah, we're working up to November!

I have one idea for November so far, and I must start working on the outline for it. My life, as always, is crazed, though. I am looking forward to another crazy, exciting NaNo!

I almost forgot I joined this group. I've been working on this year's novel since March. I'm *not* a pantser. I think it's going to be the most complex and difficult story I've written for NaNo, and even this early, I'm feeling the pressure.

I'm finishing up the sequel to my first published novel (non-NaNo, self-published), and hope to get it ready to publish next month. And then back to last year's NaNo novel. All the while, Privileged Lives (this year's) is cooking away, throwing out ideas to be noted, and making me alternately dread and pant for November.

It looks like--just like last year--if I do it, I will be finishing another novel--not starting one.
So I'm not really complying with the "rules," but I use it as a motivational tool to get from
50,000 to done on my WIP instead of 0 to 50,000.

I did finish my first novel last year by doing NaNoWriMo (got from about 50,000 to 93,000).
And that was my first year of it.

I have one fun idea for my NaNo, and I wrote a little bit of an opening, though I'm going to tear that apart and start from scratch. I just need time to do the outline. (Laughs hysterically again)

Here is a link though, to a picture and that original opening.

A gun, a sword, *and* a shoulder bag. Nice! And I assume those are plot bunnies.

Yes. Plan a sequel to my book born from the 2010 NaNoWriMo. Jotting notes on Post-Its as they surface :)

11 Good Luck with Camp. No way I'd try this in the summer. For me, November is a great time to put on a pot of coffee and contemplate, not glorious summer :)

I fear I'm a traditionalist, so I'll be doing November only. I love the anticipation and build up to it. Besides, I can work very hard and clear up enough other stuff that I can have at least the first few days of November relatively free of other work. I couldn't do that more times through the year.

# 18 -- Actually, these are plot bunnies (grin):

#17 Love the stuffed bunny on her back! The opening reads like a fun twist of fate...

#19 Curious: Whe n the Post It Notes surface or when the notes surface? *ducks and runs*

I'm hoping that this year's Camp NaNoWriMo session will help fuel my November novel - somehow I've discovered though this year's camp that I can tie the novel that was born last NaNo in with a novel I'd been writing in high school (that never got finished) if I just revamp it a little bit - and i can add the musings from camp into the mix to make it even better.

22 When anything surfaces ;) note or thought. Grab and scribble, or trap and release.
