At the most recent library sale, a middle-aged young mother told me she liked my T-shirt and were they available on the internet? I thought, how lucky is that? A LTer has spotted me. Are you a member of LibraryThing? I ask. What's that? she replies. I explain. She seems vaguely interested but clearly disappointed that my "LibraryThing: What's on Your Bookshelf" is not a general pro public libraries sort of T-shirt. She also noticed the my bumper sticker in the parking lot.
So, I suggest when the design is updated it reads "LibraryThing.com: What's on Your Bookshelf." I think the dot com is important.
I've been proudly sporting an LT button (thanks bleuroses! mua!) 'round town lately (with a bit of a superior look on my face. hehehe). When people ask, I just explain that LT is a fantastic online literary community.... yada yada yada... catalogue your books!..... discussions!.... reviews!.... recommendations!..... utterly addictive!....
Most people seem excited. All in all, we have it made here, guys, don't we?
I did have a librarian at my town library remark on my shirt last Saturday. I asked if she had ever heard of LT and she said she had, but hadn't checked it out online yet. I told her she really, really should check it out :-)
