Recently, I've had a few books "go lost" and a few books "refused" or no response to the request. It seems more "frequent" than before, but I may be hallucinating or just noticing it.

One book was running late, so I PM'd them saying that I noticed it was running late, but that I would mark it rec'd even after the "lost" date... I just wanted the book. It did arrive, but the postmark was just after I sent the message.

I've got another book running late & I sent a message to that one (no responses on either)... but I'm hoping.

I've also had a few requests refused with "can't find it" and "just took it to the book sale/charity shop/other" and "gave it to a friend."

Is it just happening to me? Is it just a semi-normal cycle of problems?

Anyone else having situations like these?

Even if we can't choose who we mooch from, I wish we could see individual stats so we would know if a book is going to be late or never show up.

Skittles, I haven't seen any recent pattern but the last book I received was stamped "opened for inspection by the USPS". It was in a bubble envelope but no plastic inside (I always do) and the last 100 pages were water stained on the bottom. It was a large trade size paperback that had been on my wishlist for quite awhile so I really wanted to read it. I can't really tell if it got wet before it was shipped or when it was opened. Although I expect the former I gave her the benefit of the doubt as I have 70 credits with 10 pending. I wrote to her and explained the situation recommending a plastic inner bag or wrap.

I hope your RWP'd (USPS blame) it so you went back on the wishlist in the same place you were before.
