Fried Green Tomatoes

The Birmingham Public Library has picked Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Café as the latest “Project Read” book. The movie is being screened at several local library branches. Two book discussions will be held at the Irondale Café in March — one from the Irondale library, and one from Avondale.

I've eaten there several times. Never read the book or seen the movie. Sounds like this is a good excuse.

I did pick up Flagg's new novel, I Still Dream About You, for my mom for Christmas. I'll ask her what she thought (if she's been able to tear herself away from her new Nook to pick it up.)
