No, I'm already done with that school chapter of my life for the past 15 years. Its just something to spark a conversation, as this group has been rather quite lately

Moreau and Waterhouse are some of my favorites:

#6 I actually got to see Botticelli's Primavera while in Florence in 2006. I just wanted to reach out and touch it, but I knew that would get me in big trouble!

I have Waterhouse's "Echo and Narcissus" above the fireplace in my bedroom:

This is from Ovid's Metamorphoses.

Edit: a print obviously.

This is a famous painting from Hindu Mythology of the lovers Krishna and Radha.

This is from the Kangra School of Indian Court painting.

An amusing take on Christian iconography:

Beautiful picture Ben. What is it?

Jean Delville, titled "Plato's Academy".

That explains a few things, although the resemblance to the usual pictures of Jesus as well as the fact that there are 12 companions seems more than coincidence.

On closer inspection, (http://jeandelville.org/Paintings/School%20of%20Plato/pages/DSC_0336.htm) the boy third from left seems to have something an adult Jewish male would not be expected to have.

>17 DaynaRT: Among other things. I'm trying to not bring down the tone of the conversation.

If we can expand to famous sculptures from mythology, there are many but I think none more famous than Michelangelo's David:

(It is sometimes said that Michelangelo made the mistake that Delville apparently didn't.)
