Hi; I'm trying to remember a novel published in late 70s or the 80s. It is *not* Joanna Russ' The Female Man, but it has a similar structure in some ways -- 3 or 4 women in parallel universes / alternate realities, somehow interacting with each other or related to one another. Mid-list author if I recall correctly. I keep thinking, for instance, Michaela Roessner (not her), Lisa Mason (not her) ....
Help?
... update: will post on "Name that book", too!

Did you figure this out? It feels like I should know this, but it isn't coming to me...
Oh, could it be Black Wine by Candas Jane Dorsey?

Nope, definitely not Black Wine - and I'm still looking.

It was Infinity's Web by Sheila Finch (1985). Found it when looking through an old list of things I read way back when ....

'Infinity's Web' looks interesting. I may have to track down a copy.

I've just finished a re read of Woman on the Edge of Time by Marge Piercy. It seems that could fit the bill.

Definitely Infinity's... oh, you already found it. Too late!
I stumbled across a description of Infinity's Web not long after I finished my own novel-- also a multiverse with 3 women-- and had a brief freak-out. Would it be too similar? I found a copy fast. Whew. Nope, not at all alike.
The hair I pulled out has regrown nicely.
