1. Major Pettigrew's Last Stand (8)
2. The Master and Margarita 5
3. The Help (4)
4. Bleak House (3)
4. Forty Words for Sorrow (3)
4. Northanger Abbey (3)
7. Lord of Light (2)
7. The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society (2)
7. Rebecca (2)
7. The Passage (2)

I love to see what everyone else is reading, here are the first 10 books when you sort by the 11 in 11 tag. There are lots of books with (2) copies tagged, but these were the first 4 listed.
Just wondering what people think of these books. Have you read them? Would you recommend them? Are they your copies up there? Are you going to read them this year?

The Help and Bleak House were two of my first few books to be read for this challenge, I enjoyed The Help and struggled with Bleak House.
Rebecca is one of my favourite books, so dark and mysterious. I read Guernsey last year and also really enjoyed it.

Thanks for the reminder! I had been meaning to go back and tag the books I have started :)

Good to see the tag glitch has been sorted out. Quite a few changes here, still seems like the group reads are topping the bill. I envy the people with the new David Mitchell book ;) I am trying to have a year of not buying books (so I can read more from my TBR pile), I have received a few via Bookmooch and Bookcrossing though. It seems like many of us are trying to read more Classics.

Argh! I had completely forgotten about tagging my books. Gah. Okay, as soon as I have a quiet evening free, I'll curl up with my laptop and remedy the situation.

Thank you, soffitta1, for compiling this information. It's so interesting to see what's popular among us.

There's a couple on the list that I've read and a couple more that I plan to read at some stage but none of those have been read for my challenge so far this year.

Wow! I'm a little surprised - there are 4 on the list that I've read this year, 1 I'm currently reading and a couple I read last year.

I am also very glad they fixed the numbering system :) Thanks for the update(s)!

Some new entries this time.
Fingersmith is a book I have read and enjoyed, lots of twists and turns.
Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell, a tome, very good, but I remember being disappointed by the end. Jane Eyre is my guilty secret, I have never read it! I keep being recommended it, but somehow the fact that everyone else has read it and loved it has put me off trying it. I do now own a copy, I will read it soon, I promise!

No changes on the list from last time, a month ago. Quite surprised about that.

Jun 17, 2011, 11:47 pm

I just noticed a couple days ago that none of the books had changed position on the list for quite a while. Also, the numbers under "Using the tag 11 in 11" haven't changed recently either. I suspect something might be broken.

14soffitta1
Jun 18, 2011, 5:50 am

I think so, last week I couldn't even bring up any books tagged 11 in 11.

15SouthernKiwi
Jun 18, 2011, 6:10 am

Wow, I've read 4 from that list for my challenge, another 2 I've read previously, and have 3 more on Mount TBR :-)

16DeltaQueen50
Jun 18, 2011, 1:31 pm

I've noticed that it says only 84 members are using the 11 in 11 tag (or any of the accepted variations). This group has over 200 members, so it looks like lots aren't tagging their books with the 11 in 11 tag. This may be why we aren't seeing a true picture tag-wise.

17GingerbreadMan
Jun 18, 2011, 7:10 pm

You might well be right. We were for instance at least four in the gropu read for Leviathan, and I have seen it on several threads since.

18lkernagh
Jun 18, 2011, 8:33 pm

I went and investigated my tagging and noticed that - if I am reading it correctly - the system reports that I have tagged 42 books (I have in fact tagged the 54 books I have read so far in the challenge) and interestingly, Leviathan doesn't even show up in the tagged list, not even with one reader. Same for Behemoth. I have both tagged, which makes me think there is a bug in the system .......

19casvelyn
Editado: Jun 18, 2011, 8:59 pm

>18 lkernagh: I have the same issue with different books. Also, Agnes Grey should probably be higher on the list, as it was recently a group read. Also, under "Using the tag 11 in 11," it lists X number of people, then says "and Y more." I've tagged 72 books; I should be listed. (Not that I really care or anything. It just means there's something wrong.)

20Bcteagirl

The numbers for the 'Read in 2011' tag are not changing/updating either. I think something has happened to slow or stop updates temporarily which is frustrating :(

Eh, I have one from this year on that list, one from last year, and a few on the tbr. But I think 6 of those were group reads, so not really surprising that they would take the lead.

27soffitta1

Haven't had a chance to do this for a while. Looks like there are a few changes, people reading different series. Mysteries and Classics seem to be prevailing. As the year goes on, less and less books are from my own list.

2. Leviathan (8)
3. The Master and Margarita (7)
3. Suite Française (7)

Sorry if this is a silly question, but is there a way to see who else has tagged the same book as me? For example, there are some books that I've read this year for the 11 in 11 that one or more other people have tagged. Iwould like to check out their threads to see what they thought.

31Bcteagirl
Sep 14, 2011, 1:35 pm

Good question!

32soffitta1
Sep 14, 2011, 3:41 pm

That's a good question, and one I'd also wondered about. I don't know if you can, only that if you look the book and the tag is bigger, that means more people have the same tag.

33Bcteagirl
Sep 14, 2011, 4:19 pm

Oh, I have an idea!!!

If you go to the book, and click on 'conversations' you can see posts that have tagged the book. Of course, if a lot of people are discussing the book, this may not work well.

34xuesheng
Sep 14, 2011, 4:33 pm

Thanks, Bcteagirl. That works a little, because I found some mentions of the books, but not indications that they read them as part of this year's challenge. Maybe they're like me and behind on their comments.

I hoped there was a way you could click through to see the members that tagged the book the same way.

35Bcteagirl
Sep 14, 2011, 4:47 pm

Yeah I would love that too. Might be an interesting thing to suggest in the new librarything features forum?

I think I missed this thread early in the new year.

Let's see 14 total, 6 were read for the 11-11. I also see I have a bad habit of tagging books for the challenge, then changing my mind about them.

Thanks for putting this together, it's always interesting to see what the top books were.

I only have one planned (so far) for the 12-12.
