I tried my first Thomas Hooker Nor'Easter the other night. Very interesting. I'm pretty sure I tasted Cinnamon in there. I usually buy ales not lagers, but someone brought a six pack of this to our New Year's Eve bash, and left one in the fridge. I admit I enjoyed it, but I probably wouldn't run out and buy any for myself. I will be trying some of there other offerings, though.

I haven't tried that Hooker beer. I used to trade for some of their stuff a few years ago, I had a buddy from Connecticut who loved many of their beers.
Did it have similarities to Sam Adams Winter Lager (another malty lager with spices)?

It was much MUCH spicier than any Sam Adams I've had. I found another bottle in the back of my fridge and I'm saving it for the next Nor'easter.

Cinamon's pretty unusual taste for a beer. I've met a few 'Ginger' styled real ales (as opposed to ginger beer) and Hook Norton does an Umbel ale with corridander that I quite like, but never cinamon. I guess I'm unlikely to see it over here.
Recently came across Dunham Massey's "Expresso". Yes it does taste very coffeey. Very much more so than many porters or stouts that claim some coffee notes in the taste.
