I have tons of books on "to-read" lists and really want to read them all. Lately I've been in a "procrastinating on reading" mode which I hope to shake because I really love reading. I tend to binge when I do get around to reading. I pick up a book and then stay up virtually all night to finish it. I guess I get hooked fairly quickly. However, I do tend to be critical about writing styles and plot structures. It's my opinion that if an author takes the time to write a novel or any other kind of book, he or she can certainly learn to write without being overly verbose. He/she can also study the ways to structure a plot. I guess what I am trying to say is I enjoy reading the writing of authors who have truly honed their craft. I am loathe to start a book without finishing it, though, so I can become trapped in book I dislike just to spite myself. :)
