Sobre mi biblioteca

I began collecting Texana in the 1960s and continued to do so throughout my life. I also retained much of my childhood book collection.

Sobre mí

I was a small-town library director all my working life. I helped found the local public library in 1960, and served as its director from 1965 to 2016. I also spent much time working on local history and genealogies, and built an exemplary collection relating to this for the library. In the early 1970s I oversaw the design and construction of a building for the library, working in conjunction with architects Ford, Powell and Carson of San Antonio.

I was fortunate to receive recognition and honors from my professional peers, including the Texas Library Association's Small-Community Librarian of the Year. I was active in the Texas Library Association, Texas State Historical Association, West Texas Historical Association, and the Texas Folklore Society, and held the presidency of the Folklore Society in 1996-97.
