I would like to think that I enjoy a versatile and wide taste in reading but everybody's got blind spots I suppose. I think the one word that would best sum up my reading tastes is melancholy. I do own a large number of books by what I guess I would assume to be modern standards, but they are spread unevenly between Austin, Chapel Hill, and Boston... physically speaking that is.

I'm a forty-one year old male, divorced with a perfect soon to be eight year old daughter. Born in California, raised in Texas, schooled in Alabama and learned in North Carolina. I currently reside in Austin, Texas doing my third stint at Half Price Books where I am employed as a utility infielder. Previously, I owned part of and managed a bar named Hell for six years right off the University of North Carolina campus. Before that, I owned and operated a tiny independent record store in Chapel Hill named Two Way Pull that specialized in what some would call esoteric music while most others would refer to as goddamned racket. I write fiction and record music, both with very little talent. Currently I am torn between the possibility of hope, though with little delusion as to its inconsiderable dimensions and ragged nature, and the more likely crushing meaninglessness of it all. I like to read, watch movies, and listen to and make music.
