I collect first editions, in fiction (mostly English) and non-fiction (mostly Science), as well as Natural History books. I have a thing for hardcover books, in particular books that look the way they did when they first appeared. I hate the little stickers advertising "Winner of the Pulitzer", or "Oprah's Book Club". Let me make up my mind by myself. I just loved reading "The Old Man and the Sea" with the book the way it was before everybody else read it.
