Sobre mi biblioteca
A little over 800 volumes, mostly History and almost all are hardcover. The majority are in bookcases along a wall in the living room, the focal point being the center bookcase with multi-volume works by the same author. The Durant's, "Story of Civilization" (11), Sandburg's "Lincoln" (6), Churchill's "WWII" (6), Caro's "LBJ" (3 so far), Branch's "Martin Luther King" (3), Remini's "Andrew Jackson"(3), Page Smith's "Peoples History of the US" (8), Malone's "Jefferson" (5), Manceron's "French Revolution" (5), Shelby Foote's "Civil War" (3), etc
Sobre mí
I love books. I was a History major at Northern Illinois University, Dekalb IL (B.A. 1973) and the oldest part of my library dates mostly from there (the oldest book that I actually purchased is a copy of Henry Thoreau's "Walden" which I bought in 1968). The oldest books I have are a two volume "History of the World" by Samuel Maunder which talks about the recent Mexican-American War (1851). Book interests include mainly History but also Theology, Thoreau, Tolkien, Canoeing, and Birding.
