The Vance Birthplace is one of 27 historic sites under the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources. The site consists of seven historic buildings including the birthplace of North Carolina Governor, Zebulon B. Vance. We interpret early Appalachian mountain life and culture in western North Carolina from 1790 to the mid-1840s.
