Sobre mi biblioteca
'Paper flowers'...*sigh* Oh well. Anyway, one of these days, I'm just going to have romance novels and nature books, and not anything else. And other stuff.

It is by my tireless occult research that I have brought these facts to life.

"I am a brother to dragons, and a companion to owls."

About my ratings:

-5 stars (10/10): excellent, perfect (I'll definitely want to keep it; getting ahold of it was a great decision.)

-4&1/2 stars (9/10): very good, superior (I'll want to keep it; getting it was a very good idea.)

-4 stars (8/10): adequate or good; no major flaws (I'll probably want to keep it; it was a good buy.)

-3&1/2 stars (7/10): flawed, or mostly mediocre (I might possibly want to keep it; next time I'd look for something a little better.)

-3 stars(6/10): of poor quality (I would be unlikely to keep it; it does not really meet my standards.)

And if it's rated less than that, it's, well, exceptionally poor.

About my tags:

"Mexican is not a flavor!"

*appears out of no-where, and leans in close to her* "Thank you."

You see, children, you know that Mexican can be a nationality, or a style of cooking, but not a flavor of gummy-bears or whatever.

Okay.

Also: If I classify something under 'finished reading' it means I finished it *after* (or maybe shortly before) joining LibraryThing; it would be too difficult trying to figure out everything I read when I was younger.

Also, if I read part of a book, but I don't finish it and I don't own it, I don't list it. (However, sometimes I'll list a book under 'Lost' if it got lost or something, but if I might consider replacing it, or something.)

Another little technical notice: I notice that if you edit one of your reviews, the date doesn't change...just something to stow in your cabin.

Update: A few of my collections (not books or tags, collections) seem to have, uh, evaporated. Now THAT is odd. Has anyone been changing any light-bulbs recently within the deep blinking digital heart of LT?

Well, it's at times like these that I'm glad that I only really have a few books--at least by my own standards. Kinda puts a ceiling over how much grief the whole thing can give me...

{And, I might as well put this somewhere too, because even if it is a bit funny for somebody like me, it's also something that I've honestly taken into my heart: "What we cannot speak about, we must pass over in silence."}

Update: looks like the light-bulb returned to its post. Excellent decision, light-bulb.
...

Also consider: apparently 'Hogwarts' in French is 'Poudlard'. Thus: Harry de Poudlard.

Anyway, I wonder if there are any Pittsburgh Pirates fans in New Jersey.

Or maybe I'll just be, like, a Mets fan.

Also: I actually like Girl Scout Cookies better than 'the Hunger Games'...or the blink-y lights.

{Because, I swear to my God, if I come across one more girl who thinks that 'The Hunger Games' book is cute and romantic, I am going to stamp 'hypocrite' across her forehead in *bright red ink*....}

..... Other revelations, hmm, let's see....

Oh, and I've decided to become a dancer. (And, unlike my decision to join the 501st Stormtrooper Legion....) After all, 'any savage can dance'-- even Mr Darcy.... And maybe, with luck, I'll even get into the Royal Swedish Ballet, like Anders Nordstrom....

Other thoughts: if you do not like P&P, then do not talk to me. (Or at least, if you *actively dislike it*, then don't.) Remember: I'm not the nice one; *Jane* is the nice one. :P

(*) Because the truth is, that if you don't like Jane, then I've wasted too much of my time talking to you already.

*dips pen into ink*

{And I also only want to wear things that are blue, so I'm going to work on that.... Seriously: I'm going to have to cobble together some cash so that I can re-stock.... And in the mall: you can't buy clothes in the village, it's demeaning.... Man's ascent to civilization, you see?.... And I want to be a man of quality, (and not some poor, scandalous rascal), not least because I don't want to get it from *pity*, i.e., *not at all*.... So. I shall be the blue prince.}

And now, if you'll excuse me, I have a letter to write to my sister.

.....~~~

The sci-fi apocalypse has none of the rudimentary comforts of the 1790s.

And I can't explain the rest, but this is all just a part of my past.

....

So, look for me on listal-- I'm charidotes20....

"This world is not for him.... *nor I*...."

.....

".... don't make it bad.

.... don't let me down.

.... So let it out, and let it in.

.... Na, Na, NaNaNa, NaNaNa, Hey Jude...."
Sobre mí
One day, Marc Antony, a wolf of a man, nailed my hand to the door of the Senate.

But I guess that just makes me like the great god Tyr.

(Hmm, it used to handle the special character...but now it's coughing it up. Well, 'Tyr', 'Tir'...same dude. And it's nothing compared with the thing with the hand, you know?)

"Are we children, that let the consul speak?"

"Suffer me that I may speak; and after that I have spoken, mock on."

...

"Two large black ravens
Are eating the plums on the tree,
I wonder if the other city
Cares for me?"

*shrugs* Anyway, I'm the goose boy. *nods* :)

....

And, this sounds odd--because it is--but nobody really understands, except for most people, in a way...It's wierd. But what use is it to say--a million this, a million that, as though you had a circle of a million friends, and asked them all yourself.

Does that sting, I wonder? It does, you know, when you grasp the nettle, 'Neville'...

....

And remember guys: if you try to make me sad, then that means you're stupid. ;)

........

Also, I just did my list of favorite authors, {N.B.: de-listed/former favorites: Bernard Lewis, Livy, Norman Stone), although there are a few discrepancies--among the least obvious, Milton Friedman wrote a great book, but he's basically not an author, so....also, Winston Churchill didn't win a place--ha!--and, if you want to know the truth, I think about, say, 'Somebody's Daughter' far more often than the *quality of the prose itself* compels. Also: the dead by far prevail here, tho, in general, the living have it, I think. But, happily, this list equalizes the philosophers with the historians {N.B. I used to have three of each}--even though philosophers cannot match historians in bulk, page for page, pound for pound, such simply would not *be* philosophy, or even book for book, or author for author, but, *still*, they are worth at least as much-- and puts literature and fiction ahead of both (and surely that is what lies closer to us, anyway).

{And, yeah, the list of favorite books really is rather different from the list of favorite authors, in lots of little ways.}

So don't ask me why they call Livy, Livius, or Victoria Holt, Jean Plaidy.

But, if you *really* look at it, you'll notice that it's mostly a list of second sons--perhaps Nezzy would be the exception, from a certain point of view--and maybe that's because I myself am a second son, as well.

Other thoughts: I'll be forever grateful that I didn't decide to call myself Caesar-something, but despite the whole vague ancientpaganwisdom angle, and the cute line about the garden and the library, (although I don't actually work much in the garden, now do I....), I'm starting to realize that Teddy here doesn't actually share all that much with old Tully-- we don't even share the same Sun sign-- he's a Capricorn; I'm an Aquarius-- and, I mean.... a lawyer? You mean.... Like Atticus Finch?-- and I don't really want to be Cicero's fanboy anymore, even though I'm not going to go thrashing around now, trying to change my name.... Or my face. I mean, I had someone leave a pretty funny comment once about how it looked.... And, God, I don't even remember.... Sorry, ha-ha. Anyway, I guess what I'm trying to say is that, yeah, sometimes I do wonder how well I've stocked the gallery here, in my little poor man's Pemberley.... *shrugs* But what will be, must be.

.............

In other words, keep in mind that my opinions do change.... I can't always explain....

.............

But if you want to explain Abbey Road, ask Friedrich Nietzsche. {And James Taylor!!!!}

.............

I just wasn't sure what to say....

Also, some of the things I've written speak to the pain-- the pain of growing up-- that I was in at the time of writing.... insight, but also pain.... like a ghost.
