Right now I'm reading mostly horror and whatever free romance I can find on Kindle Unlimited. I haven't filled in my backlog of books read because I can't remember all of them, so you'll see a disproportionate amount in the romance and horror sections right now. Those two remain my favorite genres, but I definitely don't hold myself to only those. I like books that are engrossing or interesting in some way, or endearing. I like world-building and books that introduce new concepts I never could have thought of. Turns out you can find those in places you never thought to look.

This is what happens when the kid who reads under their desk at school grows up, I guess. I like to read and read a lot, but I like to think I don't have overly pretentious opinions about things. I go through phases where I like to read different kinds of things. Soon I'm sure I'll turn to longer, slower-burn books, but right now I just want to read things that are fast, fun, and at least momentarily entertaining.

I try to go into reading a book with the right mindset. You can't read some silly sci-fi romance with the same point of view as The Exorcist. I try to rate books based on what they're trying to do, their target audience, and how much fun I had reading it. Hopefully this helps someone out there.
