Sobre mi biblioteca

I have a wide variety of thriller, suspense, and mystery novels, from Agatha Christie to Jonathan Kellerman, John Sandford, Tess Gerritsen, Ellery Queen, Dorothy Sayers, Nora Roberts, and Linda Howard. I also love poetry, specifically William Stanley Merwin, Shakespeare, Dante, T.S. Eliot, Emily Dickinson, and Sylvia Plath. I have not been reading for a while as I have been battling an illness. I am better and looking at all the books I have missed. I did read The Lovely Bones when it came out and loved it. I love surreal kinds of fiction, like Love in the Time of Cholera, and I have fallen in love with A.S. Byatt, though I have not read some of her work that I am sure I will like very much.

I enjoy short stories by Stephen King, Shirley Jackson, Flannery O'Connor, and Faulkner (I am a Southern girl, so I have to like Faulkner).

I am branching out into nonfiction and enjoy politics (when it's not too depressing), economic theory, history, philosophy, and music.

I read the Hornblower series after watching the movie. It was great.

Sobre mí

I am a senior citizen now, and I don't know how that crept up on me. I am a writer—one children's book—and starting a blog. It will be a sort of thought experiment along the lines of who I would like to see in conversation together. There are so many interesting people and subjects with all the political and economic madness today.

Astronomy and astrophysics are reaping incredible rewards with Hubble and I am listening to Ipods from Neil DeGrasse-Tyson. I wish he had been my science teacher.
