- I like contemporary American literature with a strong plot line and a dark center. Flannery O'Connor was an early influence, and southern gothic remains a favorite. I'm also a collector of short stories by Virginia writers. Will read anything by Tana French, James Lee Burke, or Dennis Lehane.

- Irene is the author of two books set in Florida: Rules of the Lake (stories) and Ashes to Water, a mystery/thriller. An accomplished actor and playwright, Irene has had recurring roles or guest starred in many notable TV series and films. As a voice-over artist, she has recorded books on tape; narrated a documentary film, and is probably the voice on your cell phone’s GPS. She lives in Richmond with her family and a wolf-dog, Maya.
