The oldest from 1679 I found at the Paris Flea Market in 2000. It was seven plays by De Monsieur Paul Scarron bound together in 1726 for a lady in waiting at the Court of King Louis. Of the seven the LOC had at last check only four of them. The oldest American printed book I have is Ramsey's History of South Carolina from 1793 complete with a mini ball hole almost through it from the American Civil War. Books in this collection have been bought by me from around the world, From Cairo, Jerusalem, Moscow, London, Paris, Geneva, Amsterdam, San Juan, and points in between. A lot of them are former library books found at Goodwill, Yard sales, Bookstores, and the like. I started the core in 1965 with a book on Washington,D. C. when my father took me there for him the plead a case before the U. S. Supreme Court.

Another generation of library owners, going back into the 1600's in VA and New Amsterdam, I am descended from families who have been strong believers in education and reading. I got part of my collection from my grandparents on both sides. Even my step grandmother left me some of her mothers books from the mid 1800's. I seek out books across many subjects and prefer hard cover over paperback. Just need a bigger room for my collection as it grows. As of Jan, 2022 it stands at 9,306 Volumes of all types of media.
