Acerca de mí
The Indian Action Council was founded in 1971 to help meet the educational needs of American Indian children and families in our service area. In 1977 we were funded by the California Department of Education as an American Indian Education center and have been continuously operating since that time. Our educational services include tutoring and library services. Over the past few years, despite limited funding, we have been able to provide a computer lab for use by students and tutors. We also provide parent training classes, and cultural presentations for schools.
Our library contains unique materials that have been donated by community members and scholars in Native American studies. The approximately 3000 volume holdings include archival materials and photographs, as well as out of print books, reference books, and periodicals. The collection is available for community viewing at the Indian Action Council center during weekdays throughout the school year.
