I'm a writer, and the thoughts rolling around in my head--big ideas and little ones--need a place to land. So I began a blog (www.ourbarefoothomestead.com) to remind myself that it is the little things that bring joy to my life.

I married my best friend in October, 2010 and we now have a growing family that includes Chappy (my horse),Ginger (our puppy), and Gidget & Fidget (my sugar gliders).

I have lived in just about every region from east coast to west and currently make Virginia Beach my home. I love adventure, and I'm learning how to find it in the little things in life. A few of my favorite things are reading, riding my horse, and searching local thrift stores for good deals =).

I was fortunate to land the job of my dreams before I even finished graduate school and I get to write for an amazing international humanitarian aid organization. And, after all, getting paid to write is every writer's dream come true! I also do a bit of freelancing (www.drakeink.com) and even some creative writing when I have time.
