- Sobre mi biblioteca
- This library was created as a reference for teachers at the middle or high school level to use to become aware of some of the many different texts that might be applicable in their classrooms. The focus of this library is not only to show books that would be appropriate for different levels, but provide an explination of the purpose and meaning for which they could be put to use as well. I have also included a few different texts that are good references for teachers, not to use in their classroom, but as tools for themselves. Many of them include information to guide, structure, and add purpose to methods that teachers can use. Many of the novels I have included are comtemporary or YA lit, because it again is something that I feel passionately about because of its interest to students who otherwise may not care to read, and the effect they can have on providing a supplement to some of the more daunting classic literary texts. Another thing I hope to be able to utilize in my future classroom is the ever-changing technology of today's world by including many different forms of media, and different styles of literacy, to engage students in the world of learning.
- Sobre mí
- My name is Elizabeth and I am a senior at Michigan State University studying English for Secondary Education. I have three sisters and two nieces who are my world, and I hope that some of my loving and caring nature for them will carry over into my future classroom. I am very passionate about YA lit, I love to read it on my free-time and also feel that it is increasing effective to use in the classroom as well. Some of my favorite YA authors being J.K. Rowling, Sarah Dessen and Ann Brashares. Other than reading and teaching, my passions are writing, singing, dancing, and being with my family.
