CHOCOLATE LENIN
A satire/thriller set in the near future, a brilliant but crazed scientist in a chocolate factory recreates the historical revolutionary Vladimir Ilyich Lenin, and restores him back to life. As a new revolution threatens to hurl the world into chaos, an elite but very quirky security team is formed to end the madness before pandemonium starts.
A unique and humorous look at today's contemporary world of technology and science, and politics, Chocolate Lenin will leave you laughing and moved at the same time. Graham Diamond has blended history, fantasy, and adventure into a single, spellbinding tale.
If you're interested in satirical speculative fiction and want to read something different, Chocolate Lenin is a fantastic book for you.

Chocolate Lenin: A Novel (Trade Paperback)
It's very hard to categorize this book, which is part of its ridiculous charm.

If you know all about the historical figure Lenin and his relationship to Stalin, and at least some of how Russia came to be what it is today, and if you take all that reality-history seriously, this book could well keep you in stitches all night.

This is a novel that requires the reader to have some depth of context to understand and appreciate how it's a take-off on our current reality. If you've never heard of Lenin, this just isn't going to get to you the same way.

We argue and even rage over political matters, but make no progress. That may well be because we just can't laugh at ourselves hard enough to gain perspective. This novel might restore perspective and let some progress be made.

Chocolate Lenin postulates a "what-if" of the typical science fiction novel - what if someone cloned Lenin? What if the clone woke up and started walking around, being spotted, reported....

What if those who funded the project had their delusions of power-grabbing thwarted by a scientist who taunted them by stealing all the research data and scattering it to the winds, creating a puzzle it would take a super-genius to solve?

I can just imagine how much fun Graham Diamond had writing this book!

Graham Diamond began writing as a fantasy and science fiction author. He was born in Manchester, England, after World War II, and his family moved to the United States when he was a young child. He was raised in New York City, on the Upper West Side, and graduated from the High School of Music and Art. He attended CCNY in NY, and the Art Students League of New York.

A fine arts major, Diamond turned to professional writing in his late twenties and is now is best known for books such as The Haven (Playboy Press), Lady of the Haven (Playboy Press), The Thief of Kalimar (Fawcett Books), Black Midnight (Zebra) and Forest Wars (Lion), Marrakesh (Fawcett), Samarkand, Samarkand Dawn, (Playboy). He soon turned to other genres; including historical fiction, thrillers, and later a true story of a Holocaust survivor's family during World War II, Maybe You Will Survive (Holocaust Press, 1991). Several of his books were published in the UK by Methuen.

His latest novel, Chocolate Lenin, (2012) is a satire/thriller set in near-future Russia. A crazed but brilliant scientist recreates Vladimir Ilyich Lenin, and restores him to life. Before a new revolution and pandemonium begins, an elite, quirky team of security experts is formed to stop the unfolding chaos.

Under the pen name Rochelle Leslie (the names of his two daughters), he authored Tears of Passion, Tears of Shame, a novel of South Africa set during the Zulu War of 1879 (Berkeley/Jove) which was subsequently published in Italy, titled, Venuto De Lontano, (To Come From Far Away) by Mondadori. He also has had various short stories published in anthologies. In addition to his numerous novels and non fiction books, he was employed as an editorial artist by the New York Times for many years, and has also taught creative writing in both New York and California. He regularly volunteers and lectures at public libraries and schools across the United States. "So much of my youth was spend studying in libraries," he says, "they became almost a second home."

Beginning in the autumn of 2007 a number of Diamond's novels, beginning with Forest Wars, The Thief of Kalimar, and Lady of the Haven, were reissued.

His varied hobbies include painting, reading, and volunteer work for numerous charities.

Diamond currently divides him time between California and New York. He is also working on another novel.
