The collection functions first and foremost as a method of making black literature more accessible to EKU students—to remove this fiction from the “literary ghetto” and render it powerfully visible. While Crabbe Library provides an excellent selection of African and African American fiction, our more informal and curated collection makes the literature more accessible to students. The books also serve as a valuable resource for AFA courses, programs, and events.

This is the digital catalog for Eastern Kentucky University's AFA Free Library, a collection of African/African American fiction housed in the basement of the Miller building and open to the entire EKu community.
