This series was intended to offer the public cheap editions of established, out-of-copyright works adorned with specially commissioned woodcut illustrations. Artist and author Robert Gibbings was appointed art editor of the series. He had owned the Golden Cockerel Press and was an important patron of wood engravers. The first ten volumes were published in 1938 but the series was not considered a commercial success and no further volumes were produced. The illustrations are a nice collection of woodcuts by nine contemporary engravers. It is a pity that the cover priority default on LT doesn't allow selection of the covers from the correct editions but four have made the cut and can be seen above.

In 1980, to mark the Crime Club's Golden Jubilee, a special selection of twelve books, chosen and introduced by Julian Symons, was published. The works were chosen from titles which had appeared under the Crime Club imprint during the years 1930 - 1955 and which were out of print at the time of selection. The books had gold dust jackets in a uniform design. The only example to have made the cut in the illustrations at the head of the series is Andrew Garve's No Mask for Murder

Slightly Foxed is a quarterly book review published in London under the editorship of Gail Pirkis and Hazel Wood. In the words of the editors it is "Unaffected by the winds of fashion and the hype of the big publishers ... [and introduces] its readers to some of the thousands of good books that long ago disappeared from the review pages and often from the bookshop shelves". The editors consistently find books that remain good reading long after their original publishing date. I have given most of the series canonical titles to impose a uniform format, purely for the sake of order and symmetry. Should anyone prefer a different format, I would not start any editing wars just so long as all the titles are changed ;-)

A series of cookery books dealing with national / regional cuisines and presented with 19th. and early 20th.C. photographs selected by George Morrison, the second husband of the author. The series was first published in hardback by J. M. Dent and then in paperback by Pan Books. Theodora Fitzgibbon was swimming in the same tureen as Elizabeth David and Jane Grigson but, despite her considerable merit, has not lasted as well.

From 1998 to 2016 Grange Park Opera produced a summer opera festival at The Grange, a Neo-Classical mansion in Hampshire, owned by the Baring family. After a fairly public spat, the company moved to West Horsley in Surrey for the 2017 season. A brand new opera house was built in record time in the grounds of West Horsley Place, a rambling and run-down Grade I listed house in the Artisan Mannerism style. The opera house is still a work in progress but is a remarkable achievement. This series of programmes begins with the first season at West Horsley

A series of stories for children by Robert Hartman published by Morrison & Gibb Ltd in the 1940-1950s. The stories concern an elderly gentleman, single, of comfortable means, regular habits and reasonably good nature. He interacts with a series of wild and domesticated creatures which, in one way or another disturb the even tenor of his life. The books are small format, thick card covered and, somewhat like Beatrix Potter books, are delightfully illustrated by the author on each alternate page.
