When Private Detective Benjamin Thomas first meets Alice, he’s annoyed that she’s interrupted his drinking. She wants him to find her missing sister, Beatrice, who has a troubled past. Assuming it to be a simple runaway case, Ben agrees to help track the woman down.

As Ben investigates, he notices Beatrice’s disappearance connects to a missing seven-year-old boy. Realizing that he may be dealing with a kidnapping, Ben turns to the police, who reject his theory. In his search to find a missing woman and child, he faces off against a cunning insurance salesman, a landlord with knuckledusters, and a psychiatrist with links to MKUltra.

A deadly encounter, a rising body count, and police corruption send Ben spiraling down a rabbit hole where he finds himself tangled in a sinister plot, certain to change America’s future. His final showdown against the conspirators not only has him facing death, but the loss of his soul.
