- pacificviewers: Rosina's suggestion -- I loved this novel. Two story lines - present day London and France in WWI. In the present day a young woman has been suddenly widowed. She focuses a lot of her grief on a painting her husband bought for her on their honeymoon. The painting is of a young woman, and the title of the painting is "The Girl you Left Behind" -- the girl in the painting is the main character of the WWI story line. A fairly easy read.
