Advertisement text (20 and 27 November): "THE LIBRARY of the late Revd. & Learned Mr. Elisha Callender, deceas'd, will be Sold by Auction, on Thursday the 30th of November currant, at 4 o'Clock Afternoon, at the Widow Callender's near the Baptist Meeting House, in Boston for the Benefit of the said Widow and her seven fatherless Children; It is hoped those Gentlemen, that had a Love and Esteem for Mr. Callender when living, will be so good as to favour the Vendue with their Company, at the Time and Place abovesaid. Catalogues will be delivered at Mr. Fleet's in Corn-Hill, Mr. Procter's Stationer at the Bible and Dove, and the Place of Sale." Advertisement text (27 November): To be sold by publick Vendue or Auction, on Thursday next, the 30th Currant, the Library of the late Reverend and Learned Mr. Elisha Callender, deceased, at the Widow Callender's near the Baptist Meeting-House in Boston, for the Benefit of the said Widow and her Seven Fatherless Children. It is hoped, those Gentlemen that had a Love and Esteem for Mr. Callender when living, will be so good as to favour the Vendue with their Company, at the Place aforesaid, at Four o'Clock in the Afternoon, that being the precise Time proposed for beginning the Sale. Among the Books are these following: [two columns of titles] Catalogues will be delivered gratis by T. Fleet at the Heart and Crown, Mr. N. Proctor at the Bible and Dove, and at the Place of Sale, any Time after to Morrow Noon." |
