Bridget Zinn (–2011)

Liked the plot, props for the amazing pig and the way the romance that sorta mighta be was developed.

I loved this book! A funny protagonist with interesting secondary characters. A plot that keeps the story moving as the main character, a portion master named Kyra, races to kill her best friend the princess before the princess can destroy the kingdom. Lots of twists, turns, and surprises. Oh, and a cute little pig! What more could you ask in a fantasy?

Funny, snappy, and brilliantly paced. A little rough in some patches, but, all in all, an amusing read.

Quick read, with nice touches of humor and an interesting fantasy world. It has one of those romances where the girl says the guy is insufferable, but actually she finds him charming and wonderful and blahblahblah. And then the reader is like, actually, sometimes he is insufferable. I don't find him charming. (Well, the reader says that if they're me.) I'm not a huge fan of those, which maybe knocked a star off this. I did love the pig, though!
