Tw: suicide
As a teen, with a lot of similar thoughts and feelings towards life, time, and the people around me, I think this book was well done.
There were a lot of sentences I liked, although I can't be certain that they are a part of the final copy. It made multiple topics more understandable, the way she talks and thinks about suicide or her depression were really well written.
The blurb about the book acts like it follows Ocean as she leaves her mom, finds friends (including Constant), and then deals with her friends breakup, and Contant is actually a bad guy and something happens with the police.
But in reality, the plot is more like Ocean is living with some new friends, is already depressed, is already lying to her mom about college. Then meets this guy, Constant, and she can't stop thinking about him even when he's not being nice to her...at all. Friends breakup (briefly mentioned), police are involved briefly, and resolution in 1-2 chapters. Most of the book is just about her depression and her relationship with Constant and with the world as a whole.
