What a strange novel or a short story! To me it looks like something’s missing here, like the unfinished story. Starts on the cemetery what definitely disturbed the main character (or at least one may think of Summer as the main character), and without any further explanation you’re going back in time to watch the adventures of her mother. The giant snake, Indians, fountain of youth…sounds like a fairy tale, but this one is without happy end, actually it is without any end at all.… (más)

A short, but rather interesting mystery story!

This book follows the story of a mother and her daughter. I have read the first book in this series, and I really loved it. But this one, book two, I have mixed feelings about. While I did love and enjoy this story as well, I also felt that it was a bit incomplete. This doesn't mean that it wasn't well-written or that the plot plus the characters weren't well-developed, I just felt that there could have been more. But then again, this is a short story. Despite that, this was still a great book with a steady pace. I find the mystery to be quite interesting, and to be honest I was surprised when I found out who/what had committed all the murders. I think that the Fountain of Youth added an unique twist - which could have been further explored into. I look forward to when the next book of this series comes out, and I can't wait to discover more about the characters.

A story in a story, a book in a book.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I really enjoyed this short story about a woman and her daughter who left Pennsylvania for Florida. Hold onto your hat because there is quite a suspenseful scene with a snake!

A great read.

Despite being a short story, it felt very complete and it is well-written. I may have not spent the longest time reading this book, but every moment I spent reading it, I was entranced. I wanted to solve the mystery, to find out what's happening and how it would all end. By the end of this story, I had tears in my eyes due to what I would call a tragic ending. It's so unique in its' own way, and the characters' personalities bought slight humour to the plot. I truly enjoyed reading this.
