Shaming and humiliating a guy by putting him in women's clothes is also not my thing.
Nothing wrong with women's clothing as far as I am concerned, no matter how skimpy. Anyone heard of humiliating a woman by putting her in men's attire? This is one of those reviews I struggle with. Did I really enjoy the book? Well no, not as such. The subject matter is dark, confronting and shows a side of humanity that we'd often rather not acknowledge I think. There's a strong element of dub-con and the only thing that saves it from being non-con is the fact that one MC signed the contract thus giving his consent. Coercion, mind-games, and psychological conditioning all are part of this as well and none of it makes for a comfortable read.

However, the book was compelling. The characters were extremely well-written and intriguing to get to know. The setting is sci-fi which helps alleviate some of the discomfort I experienced while reading this. But, to be honest, I believe that this is a book where the author doesn't want you to be comfortable. It's meant to be confronting. It's dark and sadistic and unashamedly so. Do I want to read it again? No, not really. Having said that, I'm definitely looking into the next book of the series, because I honestly do want to read that one. I suppose I do have a bit of a masochist in me, lol.… (más)
