Vicki Winslow

This book is set back in 1971. It is a story about two best friends who are inseparable until integration of the school systems causes them to go to different schools. Amanda and jackie are both white, but Amanda comes from an accepting family while Jackie comes from a more prejudice family. Jackie is sent to a private school so she does not have to deal with the integration. Amanda attends a school that is being integrated and must deal with the changes good and bad.

I liked this book. It was interesting to read about the everyday little things between the students of the integration period.

A great book to read to students during lessons about racial prejudice and the history of integration within the school systems.… (más)
