Started strong

Then went downhill fast.

The initial worldbuilding was interesting. Then it started to be *MESSAGE* before it finally bored me. Pretty much from the Obama Spaceport on was gratuitous descriptions of irrelevancies. My ability to remain in the narrative simply sputtered out. The ‘squib’ was not handled well as a character, the MC didn’t act like the hard case he had shown himself to be, and the spaceship...was ridiculous.

In the interests of clarity, I didn’t have a problem with the message itself, more with the delivery.… (más)

This short book by Jason Winn is a diamond in the rough. The story is well-written and with a little polish, could really shine. I enjoyed the tale very much and found myself wanting more. If Mr. Winn would flesh out the story and add more to it, it would be even better than it already is. It's relatively error-free as far as typos, spelling, grammar, etc. My favorite line in the book is "The Cub looked like he could run down a Ferrari".
The Blackbird's Ball is a tasty little treat that leaves the reader wishing for more. I hope the author expands on the book. It's a good read.… (más)

It is short story. At first i could not see what the first two chapters fit together but at the end they do. Shows if you care about someone they will care about you. if you throw someone away you can be thrown away too.
Cat is a drug addict and acholic just out of jail and sings on stage she popular in her circle. her sets are sold out but she ends passed out on stage. than you have mogul hangs himself and his acholic wife finds him. than goes back again to Cat. is full of drugs,violence in a world I dont relate too.… (más)
