I love the concept of this book - black and white photos colorized by the artist so readers could get an idea about what the photos would have looked like in color. But, the execution fell short. The colors were so muted, it was as if they were colorized and left to fade in the sun or left in an attic for 100 years. The colors in the photos looked drab and sad. I get that this is art, but I would have liked to see the photos in vibrant color - how the world actually looks. I also would have preferred if the original black and white photos were next to the colorized photos instead of in the back of the book.… (más)

I received this book through Early Reviewers. It contains many incredible photos from throughout international history. Beautifully put together book. The photographs are stunning; add the historical facts for each picture and it makes for one great coffee table book. I can pick up this book and look at it over and over. Great addition to my library

Interesting concept. This is a collection of photographs of historical events and situations --many less common, very everyday-- that the authors have colorized to give a sense of what the scene would have looked like live. It's nice collection, but honestly, the world as I see it is much more vibrant in color than they can manage to get the photos, so it felt...colorized.
