Merrillee Whren

This fourth book in Merrillee Whren’s Happiness in Hallburg series is absolutely delightful. Six-year-old Joy and the cute pup Pippa are hard to resist in this sweet Christmas romance. But knowing Tony’s relationship history, can Joy’s mom, Ella, trust him with her heart?

We get to know our characters well within the confines of this novella. The author has given the puppy a featured role in the story and Pippa certainly wiggled her way into my heart. Tony has recently moved back to Hallburg and seeing the romance between Ella and Tony blossom made me smile.

This is a Christian romance, so there are religious references. It is a sweet and clean read (other than a little kissing).

Puppy Love and Christmas Cookies is the third installment from Merrillee Whren’s series, Happiness in Hallburg. I found this to be a sweet and delightful story of love and romance, wrapped around the Christmas Spirit. With cute puppies and matchmaking kids, I had no other choice but to love it every single page. It is under one hundred fifty pages, I had no problem reading it in one sitting.

I am giving Puppy Love and Christmas Cookies five stars. Readers who are looking for a quick and clean holiday romance, will want to add this one to their Christmas reading list. I would love to read the other books from the Happiness in Hallburg series.

As the first book in The Village of Hope Series, Annie’s Hope introduces us to Annie Payton and her ex-husband, Ian Montgomery. Annie arrives at the Village of Hope as a step on the road to getting her children back after a stay in a substance abuse facility. When she realizes her ex-husband will be representing her in court, things take a turn. At first, it appeared Ian may not be able to accept that God changed her life. But as the story progresses, the two come together for her children and for the village itself.

As a facility designed to help those who need second chances and more, the staff of The Village of Hope helps bring this story to life. From Ian’s parents to Annie’s parents to various residents of the community, I loved seeing how God can change someone’s heart, and give them a second chance at love, family, a chance to minister, and more. Oh, I also need to add, I loved getting to know Annie’s children and how Ian and his parents became part of their lives.

While this is the first book in the series, I know I will be reading more. I want to learn more about the characters in this book and the community. It would be the type of place I would want to support financially.

So if you enjoy books filled with faith, family, forgiveness, and second chances, check out this book for yourself. I definitely recommend it.
