This book is about Carrie, a 16 year old who tells her story of what happened in the summer of 1990 when she rebels against her adoptive parents. She meets her Mohawk birth family and falls in love for the first time as well. This is a great coming of age story that shows how she developed as person. This book also is a good read to foster understanding of the Mowhawk culture and concerns.
