May Tyrants Tremble: The Life of William Drennan,… por Fergus Whelan
Excellent well-written life of Dr Drennan, the United Irishman. Places him well in the Non-subscribing Presbyterian tradition. The author is convincing when he rebuts charges that Drennan was anti-Catholic. I felt that he didn't tackle the question of why he didn't take part in armed activities: was it cowardice? wish to concentrate on being a writer? lack of hope of success? dislike of bloodshed?
