This was a interesting short novella!

A small backstory:

Baker Johnson inherits his uncle's estate along with all his worldly possessions. His uncle was a renowned psychical researcher and he would gather artifacts from around the world that were haunted or cursed. There is a room in the mansion called the "Black Room" to house all the artifacts but Baker is horrified when he finds out the room is empty and learns from the caretaker of the property that Baker's uncle wanted the artifacts given away in a yard sale. Baker decides to hopefully try to track them down if at all possible.

That is about all I can give on a short backdrop without giving away spoilers.

Thoughts:

This was a very short reading romp as there are five books in this series and it seems they all continue on one right after the other with Baker and his search of the artifacts. I own all the books so I will be continuing on with the series to see what Baker discovers on his journey to track them all down. Giving this book four Artifact Hunting stars!

The third book in the Baker Johnson series was a quick and entertaining read!

A small backstory and this will be small as I read this book in under an hour:

Baker is back and this time he has been summoned to meet with an author that is well known who has some information and confession that he relays to Baker on his psychical research and that could have lasting effects for Baker later on down the road. A year later Baker is visited by a demon which makes him wonder if he is dreaming or if it was real as what the demon lays out for him is anything but good news.

That is about all I can give on a backstory with the book being so short, but if you want to know more about what happens then no spoilers here as you will just have to read the book.

Thoughts:

I really like these short serials of Baker Johnson as he meets with these different people as he pursues his paranormal research. The story flows and is fast paced. Like I said earlier - I read this fairly quick as all of these serials are real short but they all seem to pack a small punch within each tale. Giving this book four "Dreaded Demon" stars.

The sequel was just as good as the first book!

A small backstory:

Baker Johnson is back as he meets with a man, Jeremiah Simms who is having problems with supernatural activity in his house. There is "something" after his daughter and Jeremiah is not sure what the entity wants except maybe to take over his daughter as she has become attached to an ancient book that is probably demonic. Baker has to go up against something not of this world and will have to go to hell and back to save Jeremiah's daughter!

That is about all I can give on a backstory without giving away spoilers as this story was a short reading romp as it only took me about an hour to read.

Thoughts:

I am really enjoy these short serials with the character Baker Johnson and the writing style just flows along dragging me straight into the storyline. This story was actually more creepier and had lots of demonic vibes running through it. There are three more books to go in the series and I will be curious to see where the character ends up next on his journey to finding cursed artifacts. Giving this book four "Spooky Demon" stars.

Definitely a different type of tale about zombies. My only complaint is I saw the ending from a mile away, so I didn't get the "punch line" a great short story needs to have.
