This beautifully written book evoked a wide range of emotions as I read it. The Earle family could be any family you know; it could even be your family. That is just how relatable the characters are. A mother feeling the “empty nest” syndrome as her only child prepares to head off for college; a father welcoming the chance to finally enjoy himself and perhaps do some travel with his wife; a teenage daughter feeling the typical angst of teens and falling in love with a boy her mother doesn’t like. Then tragedy strikes and none of them are prepared for it.

Told through the eyes of Deb, the mother, and Amanda, the daughter. It is a slow buildup until about three-fourths of the way through the book. Then I just could not put it down. I had to know what would happen to them. A family drama and a shocking conclusion you will not soon forget.… (más)
